Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Part-Time Tutor provides instructional support to the Lead Instructor by coaching and tutoring participants in core academic subjects aligned with High School Equivalency preparation and workforce readiness. The tutor assists participants in strengthening foundational academic skills necessary for educational advancement, employment readiness, and successful completion of program goals. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS: • Provide instructional support using curriculum aligned with the College and Career Readiness (CCR) State Standards applied to High School Equivalency certification., • Assist participants without a high school diploma in developing foundational academic skills across reading, writing, mathematics, and other core subject areas needed to attain a High School Equivalency credential (HiSET) or equivalent., • Support participants in strengthening academic and workplace readiness skills, including digital literacy and workplace-related technology tools such as Microsoft Office applications., • Reinforce classroom instruction through tutoring, guided practice, and individualized academic support., • Enforce program policies and procedures, maintain effective classroom management, and support instructional delivery., • Collaborate with instructors and program staff to address participant academic progress and barriers to success., • Assist with quizzes, exams, and other evaluation tools; support tracking of participant performance and progress., • Maintain accurate records including attendance, participant progress, academic support logs, and other program documentation., • Perform other related duties as assigned.
