Job DescriptionReno Staffing is looking for a Production Mix Operator for a Spice & Seasoning Manufacturer in the South Reno area! This is a steady, fulltime opportunity with consistent hours and a great worklife balance. The position is temptohire, offering longterm stability for the right person. Work right here in town — no long commute, no driving across the valley — just a reliable schedule and a clean, supportive production environment. Team members who are hired on may be eligible for additional company incentives and growth opportunities. Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30pm to 11pm. Pay: $18/HR! Location: Reno, NV 89521 Summary: This role involves measuring and preparing ingredients, operating mixing and packaging equipment, and ensuring each batch meets quality and foodsafety standards. You’ll follow detailed recipes, perform basic quality checks, keep accurate production records, and maintain a clean, safe workspace. The work is fastpaced and handson, ideal for someone who pays attention to detail, communicates well with the team, and is comfortable working in a food manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned. • Verify and dump raw ingredients into mixers based on batch cards and operator direction, • Operate blending and packaging machinery safely and efficiently, • Run out blends into appropriate packaging according to specified weights, • Perform basic quality checks, including visual inspection and product labeling, • Monitor blending processes to ensure consistency in flavor, aroma, and texture, • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety guidelines (HACCP, BRC), • Clean and sanitize blending equipment and work areas to meet food safety standards, • Assist in quality control by sampling and checking blends against specifications, • Accurately complete production records, batch reports, and inventory logs, • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of blending equipment, tools, and work area, • Ensure safe handling of allergens and cross-contamination prevention, • Participate in continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency and reduce waste, • Support team members in meeting daily production goalsAt the discretion your lead or supervisor, you could be required to perform additional job related activities not specifically outlined above. Qualifications: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Level 1: Previous food production or manufacturing experience is preferred., • Level 2: Required 1+year of experience in food manufacturing, spice processing or related manufacturing, 2+years preferred., • Ability to read and follow written instructions, batch sheets, recipes, and safety guidelines., • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to product quality., • Basic math skills for measuring, weighing, and recording data., • Physically able to lift up to 75lbs and stand for extended periods., • Training in HACCP, GMP, or food safety preferred., • Good teamwork and communication skills. Level 2- Advanced skills to coordinate with production and QA teams., • Level 2 - Knowledge of spice characteristics, blending methods, and ingredient handling., • Level 2 - Solid understanding food safety regulations and quality assurance practices., • Level 2 - Basic mechanical skills for operating and adjusting blending equipment., • Must be able to read and write English., • Work in an environment that is noisy, dusty and contains spices with high heat intensity and allergens., • Withstand working in cold and hot temperatures for long periods of time, • Able to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed, • Requires use of personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves, goggles, or hearing protection.
