Description Senior Director, Design and Construction Will be responsible for all areas north of Denver to Fort Collins. Position Summary Reporting to the Vice President of Facilities, Design and Construction, the Senior Director of Design and Construction is accountable for leading the planning, design, and construction of capital projects across an assigned UCHealth region. The Senior Director provides leadership for the regional capital project portfolio and oversees multiple Directors of Design and Construction responsible for project delivery across facilities within the region. The role ensures that capital projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with organizational priorities. The Senior Director collaborates closely with regional executives, system leadership, and operational stakeholders to align capital portfolio investments with strategic growth, operational needs, and financial stewardship while ensuring adherence to systemwide design and construction standards. Essential Functions Regional Capital Program Leadership - 45% • Provide oversight for the planning, design, and construction of all capital projects within the assigned region, • Lead and monitor the performance of the regional capital portfolio, including scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality metrics, • Oversee Directors of Design and Construction responsible for project delivery across facilities within the region, • Ensure capital projects align with system standards, regulatory requirements, and healthcare facility guidelines, • Provide executive-level reporting on capital program performance to regional and system leadership Strategic Planning and Regional Alignment - 25% • Partner with regional executive leadership to align capital projects with clinical strategy, operational priorities, and growth initiatives, • Collaborate with Facilities, Finance, and system leadership to support development of regional capital plans and long-range facility strategies, • Provide guidance on project feasibility, phasing strategies, and delivery models for major capital initiatives, • Support capital prioritization processes and governance discussions Leadership and Organizational Development - 20% • Lead, mentor, and develop Directors of Design and Construction and other staff within the region, • Establish performance expectations and accountability structures for project delivery teams, • Promote collaboration, communication, and alignment across multiple project teams and facilities, • Support succession planning and professional development across the regional design and construction organization Operational Excellence and Best Practices - 10% • Ensure consistent implementation of systemwide design and construction policies, procedures, and standards, • Champion best practices in capital project delivery, cost management, contracting strategy, and lifecycle planning, • Lead initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, predictability, and transparency in regional capital delivery Qualifications Required • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field, • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in planning, design, and construction project management, • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, including oversight of multiple teams or large capital portfolios, • Demonstrated experience managing complex healthcare capital programs Preferred • Master's degree in business, engineering, or related field, • Professional certification such as CHC, PMP, CCM, or LEED AP, • Experience working in large, multi-facility healthcare systems Compensation Pay: $84.28 - $134.84 / hour.
