American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in St. Louis, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Work in a hospital ICU setting with a patient ratio of 1:2, • Patient population includes respiratory failure/ARDS, cardiac cases, stroke, multi-organ failure, DKA, sepsis, and pre- and post-op cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal surgeries, • Care for pre- and post-transplant, neuro, and medical overflow cases; includes end-of-life and organ donation cases, • Use specialized equipment such as ventilators, BiPAP, IV pumps, CRRT/dialysis, defibrillator, and invasive monitoring devices, • Charting is done in Epic; Epic experience required, • Scheduled for 4x12 hour day shifts (7:00-19:30), required to work every other weekend, • Floating within service line to other ICU units required, • No on-call responsibilities, • Position at a Magnet, Level I Trauma, teaching hospital, • Scrub color is navy, • Duties include advanced monitoring and intervention for critically ill patients across diverse medical and surgical diagnoses, • Must provide care in high-acuity situations such as cardiac arrest and multi-organ failure, • Every other weekend and some holiday coverage may be required, • No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius, • Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler, • No more than 7 days of time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off allowed during the first week, • Pre-assignment modules must be completed prior to start; fit testing required for PPE, • 18-month maximum assignment duration, followed by a required three-month break before returning\n \n Requirements\n, • Active MO or compact RN license required, • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) are required, • Required ICU skills include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction management, EKG/ECG, CVP monitoring, PA catheter/Swan-Ganz, chronic/acute renal failure care, arterial line management, blood product administration, management of central and PICC lines, starting and maintaining IVs, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, management of BiPAP, ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, infection prevention and isolation precautions, phlebotomy, and wound care with drains/wound vac, • Epic charting experience required, • No first-time travelers considered, • Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
