American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in St. Louis, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Work in the ICU of a Magnet and teaching Level I trauma center, • Patient ratio is typically 1:2 in the ICU setting, • Treats patients with respiratory failure, ARDS, cardiac events, stroke, multi-organ failure, DKA, sepsis, and pre/post-operative cases, • Serves cardiac, thoracic, abdominal surgery, transplant, end-of-life, and medicine/neuro-medicine overflow populations, • Uses specialized equipment such as ventilators, BiPAP, IV pumps/titration, CRRT/dialysis, hemodynamic monitors, defibrillators, and crash carts, • Epic is the charting system and prior Epic experience is required, • Day shifts are 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 - 19:30) with every other weekend required, • No on-call responsibilities, • Floating is required within the ICU service line, • Must be able to wear navy scrubs as required by the facility dress code, • Expect to provide care for a high acuity population including pre- and post-transplant and end-of-life cases, • Team-based environment with both medicine and surgical ICU components, • No RTO allowed in the first week, and no more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract, • Facial hair must allow proper fit testing for PPE, or will require shaving, • Permanent employees must wait at least 1 year before returning as travelers, • Standard travelers may work for up to 18 months and must then take a 3 month break before returning, • Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start\n \n Requirements\n, • Active MO RN license or compact RN license required at time of consideration, • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required, • A minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience required, • Skills required include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ failure management, 12-lead EKG, CVP, Swan Ganz monitoring, renal failure management, arterial and central line management, PICC care, IV sedation, phlebotomy, wound care, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, BiPAP, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and infection prevention, • Epic EMR experience required, • First-time travelers will not be considered, • Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility, • Must provide a valid SSN and date of birth at time of consideration\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
