Senior Sustainability Consultant As a Senior Sustainability Consultant at Kinetic Communities Consulting Corporation (KC3), you will have the opportunity to impact communities and organizations seeking to create a more sustainable future. About KC3 KC3, an M/WBE B Corp certified firm, works with key players in energy and affordable housing spaces to connect disinvested communities to clean, affordable energy. We partner with local government, the private sector, and nonprofit institutions to expand energy efficiency product integration in communities with the largest need, educate building decision-makers on using energy efficiency as a tool to preserve housing, and elevate opportunities in the energy sector for local New Yorkers. Job Overview As a Senior Sustainability Consultant, you will lead a portfolio of consulting projects primarily for government and utility clients. You will work closely with clients to plan, manage, and implement community driven energy projects in New York. You will also be a subject matter expert providing outreach and direct technical assistance to participants in larger government and utility programs. Responsibilities Project Lead Lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met Collaborate with clients to understand their goals and develop tailored strategies Analyze data and trends to provide actionable recommendations Identify and engage community-based organization partners to co-create project deliverables Design stakeholder engagement and communication efforts related to initiatives Develop and present information to various audiences, including internal team and external stakeholders Conduct research and compile reports and memos Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to improve our services continuously Subject Matter Expert (Outreach) Provide subject matter expertise to multifamily building decision-makers, residents, trade allies, and other program participants Work closely with program implementation teams and partners to identify and develop initiatives that advance decarbonization goals Engage and recruit potential program participants Review and assess clean energy scopes of work in affordable multifamily buildings Conduct analysis and benchmarking of building energy consumption and building characteristics Research regulatory compliance pathways for assigned projects The tasks listed above are representative of work that is typical for this role and are subject to change based on client program and project needs. About You The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of work experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for environmental, social, and economic justice. We seek a proactive candidate who can adapt and solve problems independently and collaboratively. You should be a skilled project manager who is excited to join a dynamic team that is committed to a just energy transition. Required qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in clean energy, environmental, climate, and/or decarbonization consulting in urban cities or related field Subject matter expertise in affordable housing, building science, building decarbonization, climate resiliency, and/or workforce development Proven experience managing projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to travel throughout NYC, five boroughs, and Westchester two - three times per month and has occasional availability during weekends and weeknights Desired qualifications: Bi-lingual competency (Spanish, Urdu, Arabic, or Chinese) Consulting experience with government and utility clients in NYC Relationships and experience working with local community-based organizations Salary Range: $75,000 to $105,000 per year Kinetic Communities Consulting Corporation is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment where all employees are valued and empowered to succeed. Rhythm 4 Life (R4L) Program Mentor Mission Statement Minds Beyond Measure (MBM), a nonprofit, strives to inspire purpose and passion, to empower and cultivate great minds in children, youth and teachers to improve educational outcomes in New York and developing countries. Background of Our Organization Minds Beyond Measure (MBM), is a nonprofit, newly established in 2019. It was birthed from the founder's traveling experiences and living abroad across Asia, and seeing a lack of educational resources and the lack of access to education in some very impoverished communities. The journey included training teachers, teaching children and youth, visiting rural schools with limited or no resources, experiencing children and youth who were hungry for small things, often taken for granted in the Western world, such as pencils and paper to write and books to read. This experience then evolved into a passion to serve the underserved, at risk and provide access to quality education for both teachers and students through pathways that inspire for life. This is when MBM was born. We're seeking a volunteer who wants to give back to the community and be a part of making a lasting impact with young people. By using their passion, creativity and communication skills, they will strive to inspire, empower and positively impact young people through a 9 week drumming program, where the focus is on using African Djembe drums to teach about culture and rhythm, and develop critical skills in students, including resilience, social-emotional, team and leadership skills. Please Note: This is a paid opportunity offering $20/hour, however, it requires a mandatory 2-day training program prior to starting which will be unpaid. Job Duties and Tasks MUST HAVE EDUCATION/TEACHING EXPERIENCE Training (1 hour a week) in the Rhythm 4 Life: Drumming up Character program Co-facilitate a group of 10-12 children with the Program Lead on Saturday’s from 11 am-12 am Evaluate and reflect on program effectiveness Raise awareness of the mentor program to others Job Skills & Qualifications Passionate about being a positive role model for young people Strong desire to positively impact children and youth Confident with presenting and performing to groups of people Comfortable with being assertive with children when the need arises Comfortable working with children/youth in an urban environment Strong communication, interpersonal and team skills Excellent organizational skills and time-management abilities Creativity skills Available to commit to a full program implementation for 8 weeks (2 hours each week): 1 hour - lesson preparation and 1 hour of program implementation (Saturday at 11am - 12 am) MBM is an Equal Opportunity Employer
