The ICU PACU Nurse will be responsible for providing high acuity nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The position involves monitoring patients who are boarding in the PACU while waiting for available beds. Job DescriptionDescription: The Pre-Operative/PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for the pre-operative and post-operative care of the surgical patients. Essential duties include: • Ensuring all drugs and equipment is properly prepared for each case., • Greeting the patient in the pre-op area for the purposes of identification and physical/psychological assessments, as well as to decrease patient anxiety and help plan nursing actions intra-operatively., • Assisting in the transfer of the patient to the OR table and monitor the patient during the induction of anesthesia., • Assessing the physical status of the post-op patient through personal observation and interaction., • Interpreting diagnostic measures and completing patient care documentation., • Properly identifying, logging, and delivering any specimens., • Assisting with inter-case clean up and terminal cleaning activities.Requirements:, • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ASN required, BSN preferred., • Current New York Registered Nurse license, • Current New York Infection Control Certificate, • Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification, • Minimum 2 years of PACU experience preferred, • Experience working in ambulatory surgery centers preferred
