About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Assistant Operations Manager to support our Production team in delivering high-quality projects efficiently, safely, and profitably. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Production Manager to coordinate crews, manage job workflows, control costs, and ensure operational excellence from start to finish. This position is ideal for someone with construction or field operations experience who enjoys balancing people, process, and performance—and who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Note: Approximately 80–90% of this role is based in the shop or field environment. What You’ll Do Operations & Production Support * Assist in managing production crews, subcontractors, and field staff, including hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed * Maintain detailed job logs, tracking changes, notes, and progress throughout the lifecycle of each project * Ensure materials are ordered, available, and staged to support timely job completion * Support foremen performance by reviewing job quality, documentation, and adherence to company standards * Conduct job site inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and safety requirements * Facilitate and document monthly safety meetings for employees and subcontractors Cost Control & Financial Oversight * Assist with tracking labor hours, job budgets, and variances using Excel and internal systems * Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy, duplication, and correct job allocation * Ensure all costs are properly approved, coded, and reconciled prior to payment * Monitor vendor charges, gas cards, cell phones, and company credit cards for accuracy and compliance * Report and help resolve unusual or excessive charges Administrative & Process Management * Review and submit job documentation to Accounting, including contracts, change orders, permits, photos, and completion paperwork * Track tools and equipment usage, ensuring accountability and proper maintenance * Maintain subcontractor records, including insurance compliance * Assist in developing, improving, and implementing operational controls and best practices * Support change orders, ensuring proper documentation, pricing, and execution Customer & Team Communication * Assist in resolving customer concerns and escalations, ensuring leadership visibility and follow-through * Communicate consistently with crews, foremen, and internal teams to ensure alignment and execution * Support training initiatives for installers and production staff What We’re Looking For Experience & Education * 3–5 years of experience in construction, production, or operations management OR * Equivalent combination of education and hands-on industry experience * Experience in plumbing, roofing, siding, windows, gutters, masonry, or related trades preferred Skills & Competencies * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously * Sound judgment and decision-making ability * Proven ability to motivate and work effectively with field teams * Comfortable working with financial data, budgets, and job costing * Strong written and verbal communication skills Technical Skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based systems * Comfortable using office equipment and job-tracking tools Physical Requirements * Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in active job site environments * Regularly lift and carry up to 70+ pounds * Ability to work in varying weather and field conditions About Us: Renuity is a national leader in the direct-to-consumer home improvement industry, dedicated to transforming spaces and enhancing lives.
