American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/26/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in an acute hospital on a combined 30-bed med-surg and 8-bed progressive care pulmonary unit, • Patient population includes individuals with pneumonia, COPD, CHF, COVID-19, pulmonary embolisms, and post-operative care needs, • Provides care involving oxygen therapy, IV medications, moderate sedation, non-invasive and mechanical ventilation, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and cardiac monitoring, • Uses Epic for documentation, Alaris pumps for IV fluids, and Acudose for medication management, • Night shifts only, 12 hours per shift, with work required every other weekend and holiday, • Floating to other Med-Surg units is required, with travelers being the first to float, • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-6 depending on acuity and shift, • Trauma Level I hospital environment, • Unit provides training and orientation including competency validation on telemetry and mechanical ventilation, and a precepted unit shift, • Team-oriented environment with opportunities for engagement in various unit and hospital committees, • Blue scrubs required as dress code, • Must note and disclose any prior employment at Sanford Health; former employees require a 6 month gap before consideration, • All clinicians must badge in and out each shift, • Local candidates within 80 miles may be considered but with a pay adjustment, • Commitment to fostering critical thinking, time management, and patient safety\n \n Requirements\n, • Active SD or compact state RN license required, • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and Telemetry experience, • Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required, • Proficiency with Bipap, Cpap, Heated High Flow, oxygen titration, moderate sedation, and telemetry monitoring, • Experience with medical-surgical patient care including critical care skills, • Epic EMR experience preferred\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
