Job Description We are looking for talented and outgoing team members to join our team at the historic upscale boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls! Previous work experience as a Barista is a plus. The hours will be 7am to noon, Saturdays and Sundays. We are searching for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages with food. The perfect candidate would be a self-starter that can work independently and likes to talk with people from around the world. Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items, serving food items, and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent experience for our guests. Note: this position’s compensation includes hourly wage and tips. Responsibilities • Greet customers as they enter, • Answer customer questions regarding ingredients, • Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios), • Serve beverages and food, such as pastries, • Receive and process payments (cash, credit card, and charge-to-room), • Keep the bar area clean, • Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs, • Hands-on experience with brewing equipment, • Ability to describe and sell food and drinks Pay based on experience.
