Heavy-Haul Carrier Development Specialist \n Work Arrangement: Scottsdale, AZ; Work from Home every other Friday \n Employment Type: Full-time \n \n We are seeking an experienced Heavy-Haul Carrier Development & Capacity Specialist to help build and expand our network of qualified transportation partners supporting oversized, overweight, and mission-critical project freight, including data-center and infrastructure projects. \n \n This is a carrier development and relationship-building position focused on identifying, recruiting, qualifying, and developing long-term relationships with specialized heavy-haul carriers. \n \n This is not a driving, dispatch, or primarily administrative role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable making outbound calls, building a strong carrier network, negotiating rates, and developing capacity for complex transportation requirements. \n \n Responsibilities: \n\n • Identify, research, recruit, and develop relationships with specialized heavy-haul carriers, fleet owners, dispatchers, and owner-operators.\n, • Conduct consistent outbound phone calls, email outreach, and follow-up to develop new carrier relationships.\n, • Build and maintain a strong network of qualified heavy-haul transportation partners.\n, • Evaluate carrier capabilities, equipment, experience, safety records, insurance, operating authority, and available capacity.\n, • Understand and discuss specialized heavy-haul equipment, including:\n, • RGNs (Removable Goosenecks)\n, • Lowboys\n, • Extendable trailers\n, • Step decks\n, • Multi-axle configurations\n, • Other specialized transportation equipment\n, • Negotiate rates and transportation terms with carriers while supporting project-specific capacity requirements.\n, • Work closely with Operations and Compliance teams to ensure carriers meet customer and project requirements.\n, • Maintain accurate carrier information, activity, communications, and recruiting metrics within the CRM.\n, • Research the market to identify new carriers and available capacity in targeted lanes and regions.\n, • Develop relationships that create reliable, repeat capacity rather than one-time carrier coverage.\n, • Help secure transportation capacity for oversized and industrial equipment, including chillers, generators, transformers, and other mission-critical equipment.\n, • Monitor carrier availability and market conditions to support project planning and execution.\n, • Meet measurable production goals related to carrier recruitment, outreach, qualified carriers, and capacity development.\n\n \n Qualifications: \n\n • 3+ years of experience in heavy haul, oversize/overweight transportation, specialized carrier sales, project logistics, transportation business development, or a related field.\n, • Demonstrated experience recruiting, sourcing, or developing relationships with heavy-haul carriers.\n, • Strong understanding of specialized transportation equipment and heavy-haul requirements.\n, • Working knowledge of permits, routing, escorts, load requirements, and oversized/overweight transportation.\n, • Proven outbound sales, business development, communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.\n, • Ability to communicate confidently and credibly with owner-operators, dispatchers, fleet owners, and transportation companies.\n, • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and proactively developing new relationships.\n, • Experience using CRM systems, spreadsheets, online research tools, and AI-enabled productivity tools.\n, • Strong organizational and time-management skills.\n, • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Operations and Compliance teams.\n, • Ability to work toward measurable activity and production goals.\n\n \n Required Skills \n\n • Demonstrated experience recruiting, sourcing, or developing relationships with heavy-haul carriers.\n, • Strong understanding of specialized transportation equipment and heavy-haul requirements.\n, • Working knowledge of permits, routing, escorts, load requirements, and oversized/overweight transportation.\n, • Proven outbound sales, business development, communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.\n, • Ability to communicate confidently and credibly with owner-operators, dispatchers, fleet owners, and transportation companies.\n, • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and proactively developing new relationships.\n, • Experience using CRM systems, spreadsheets, online research tools, and AI-enabled productivity tools.\n, • Strong organizational and time-management skills.\n, • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Operations and Compliance teams.\n, • Ability to work toward measurable activity and production goals.\n\n \n Preferred Skills \n\n • Established network/rolodex of heavy-haul carriers and transportation providers.\n, • Experience supporting data-center, energy, industrial, manufacturing, construction, or infrastructure projects.\n, • Experience sourcing carriers for generators, chillers, transformers, turbines, or other oversized industrial equipment.\n, • Knowledge of carrier qualification, compliance, insurance, operating authority, and safety requirements.\n, • Existing relationships with specialized carriers capable of handling complex or mission-critical freight.\n, • Experience developing capacity across multiple geographic markets and transportation lanes.\n\n
