Job Description Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Description The Industrial Maintenance Technician assembles, sets up, adjusts, maintains, and repairs custom factory automation equipment and fabricated assemblies used in automated robotic manufacturing solutions. This role involves working from technical drawings and instructions, safely completing tasks both independently and as part of a team, and proactively asking questions to ensure a clear understanding of each assignment. The technician supports a variety of activities aligned with the manufacturing schedule, including work on electro-mechanical equipment, robot cells, and control panels, while maintaining an organized and tidy workspace and occasionally supporting broader manufacturing operations. Periodic travel to customer locations, including overnight and multi-day trips, is required. Responsibilities • Assemble, disassemble, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment and robot cells associated with custom automated robotic manufacturing solutions., • Read and interpret technical drawings, including schematics and blueprints, to guide assembly, installation, and maintenance activities., • Apply basic math skills to mechanical assembly applications to ensure accurate measurements, alignments, and adjustments., • Assist with the assembly of control panels and electrical systems as needed to support automated manufacturing equipment., • Perform electrical troubleshooting, including work with PLCs, three-phase power, CNC equipment, and related industrial electrical systems., • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on industrial equipment to minimize downtime and improve reliability., • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workspace, including areas where parts, tools, and equipment are stocked and stored., • Follow technical directions and safety procedures to complete assigned tasks both independently and in collaboration with team members., • Support other manufacturing operations and activities as required to meet production schedules and project timelines., • Travel as needed with a small team to customer sites in the Southeast to install, set up, and support equipment, including trips typically lasting 2–5 days., • Use computers and file management systems to access drawings, documentation, and work instructions and to record work performed., • Communicate clearly with team members, ask questions to ensure understanding, and contribute to a solutions-oriented, collaborative work environment. Essential Skills • Ability to assemble, disassemble, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment and robot cells used in custom automated robotic manufacturing solutions., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting basic technical drawings, including schematics and blueprints., • Ability to apply basic math to mechanical assembly applications., • Experience assisting with the assembly of control panels and electrical systems., • General working knowledge of computers and file management., • Electrical troubleshooting skills, including PLC troubleshooting, three-phase power, and CNC systems., • Mechanical troubleshooting skills with exposure to hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial environment., • Ability to listen, speak, read, write, and understand English to follow instructions and communicate effectively., • High school diploma., • Either an associate degree in Industrial System Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Advanced Manufacturing, or a related field OR at least 1 year of on-the-job training or work experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or fabrication environment., • Valid driver’s license, maintained in good standing., • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime when necessary., • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, including overnight, to customer locations., • Ability to submit to screenings. Work Environment This position is based in an industrial manufacturing environment focused on custom automated robotic solutions and factory automation equipment. You typically work a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with schedule variations possible while working at customer sites. The work involves frequent hands-on tasks with electro-mechanical equipment, control panels, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, three-phase power, and CNC machinery. You use computers for accessing drawings, documentation, and managing files, and you are expected to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including storage areas for parts and equipment. Travel is occasional but required, usually within the Southeast region, for 2–5 day trips with all expenses paid and vehicles provided, working in small teams of 2–4 to install and support equipment at customer facilities. Appropriate industrial attire and adherence to safety practices are expected in the shop and on customer sites. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
