Job Description Job Summary Position Summary The Fleet Maintenance Parts Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate parts availability across the fleet maintenance network, which helps maximize equipment up time. Embedded within the Fleet Division for direct alignment with operational needs, this role maintains close collaboration with the Procurement team to optimize sourcing, pricing, and inventory control. The coordinator serves as the central communication hub between Fleet Maintenance Operations and Procurement, supporting regional maintenance teams and driving efficiency in parts organization and inventory performance. Key Responsibilities Fleet Operations Support • Conduct initial inventory assessments to evaluate on-hand inventory, identify dead stock, and determine items for redistribution, vendor buy-back, or disposal., • Support the creation and maintenance of SKU numbers or internal part numbers for improved tracking and standardization., • Assist in the implementation and daily use of the Perpetual Inventory System., • Create and distribute standardized filter kits and service packages to support preventative maintenance (PM) programs., • Serve as the primary contact for Regional Maintenance Coordinators, branch leadership, and technicians to locate and ship parts not in stock in the Region., • Identify and stock critical high-priority parts that may cause service disruptions to support asset uptime and operational efficiency., • Work daily with Procurement Specialist at the Fleet Maintenance Parts Hub to manage stock levels and distribute inventory to branches or regions based on demand., • Monitor inventory turnover rates and help eliminate obsolete or slow-moving items., • Reconcile inventory variances and maintain accurate counts through regular cycle counts and annual audits., • Assist regions in obtaining parts needed for manufacturer modifications or recalls., • Relay regional needs to the Procurement Specialist to facilitate order approvals, placement, and shipping., • Support Procurement in negotiating bulk pricing and stock order discounts., • Use vendor portals to source parts and manage inventory transactions through procurement., • Utilize the ERP system for inventory tracking, order processing, and data entry., • Monitor and adjust min/max quantities in coordination with regions, branches, and Procurement. Education & Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certificate preferred., • 2–4 years of experience in fleet maintenance, automotive parts, or warehouse/inventory management., • Familiarity with heavy equipment, trucks, or specialized machinery is a plus., • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States., • Keen sense of urgency and ability to act quickly and decisively., • High mindfulness and accuracy in data entry., • Adaptability to evolving systems, processes, and equipment needs., • Sims Crane & Equipment maintains a firm commitment to providing a safe and healthy work environment for its employees and quality services to its clients.
