Job DescriptionSalary: 14.00/hr Job Summary The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct support to clients in a Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), including those residing in affiliated sober living or supportive housing. Responsibilities include client supervision, transportation, housing support, and maintaining a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented environment across both clinical and residential settings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Client Care & Supervision • Provide direct, non-clinical support to clients in PHP and IOP services, • Supervise clients during program hours, breaks, and transitions, • Observe and document client behavior, mood, engagement, and interactions, • Reinforce program rules, expectations, and recovery-oriented behaviors, • Safely transport clients to and from programming, medical/psychiatric appointments, meetings, and other approved activities, • Conduct and document vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance, • Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and client attendance tracking, • Ensure client readiness and timeliness for scheduled transportation, • Enforce transportation rules (e.g., seatbelt use, appropriate behavior), • Monitor client behavior and compliance within sober living environments, • Enforce house rules, curfews, and program expectations, • Conduct routine room checks and ensure cleanliness and safety of the residence, • Perform and/or assist with random drug and alcohol screenings as required, • Support medication observation (if applicable and within scope, per policy), • Assist clients with daily living skills (ADLs), including hygiene, organization, and basic responsibilities, • Facilitate or support house meetings and community-building activities, • Document incidents, rule violations, and notable client behaviors in housing settings, • Assist clinicians with group setup, materials, and environment preparation, • Co-facilitate or lead psychoeducational or skills-based groups as assigned (within scope of training), • Maintain client safety in both clinical and housing environments, • Monitor for signs of relapse, withdrawal, emotional distress, or behavioral escalation, • Utilize de-escalation techniques and seek clinical support when needed, • Report all incidents, safety concerns, and changes in client condition immediately, • Complete timely and accurate documentation, including shift notes, transportation logs, housing notes, and incident reports, • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations, • Communicate effectively with clinical, medical, and housing teams, • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and supervision Required • High school diploma or GED, • Minimum 1 year experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or related field, • Valid drivers license with clean driving record and ability to be insured by the company, • Ability to safely operate company vehicles (vans/SUVs), • Associates or Bachelors degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, • Experience in PHP, IOP, residential, or sober living environments, • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain), • Trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approach, • Ability to manage multiple environments (clinical + housing), • Strong organizational and time-management skills, • Calm, professional demeanor in high-stress situations, • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills, • Ability to stand, walk, and actively supervise clients for extended periods, • Ability to safely transport clients and sit for extended driving periods, • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, • Flexible scheduling based on program needs, including:, • Daytime PHP/IOP shifts, • Early morning transportation shifts We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
