American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in an 18-bed Trauma ICU at a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital, • Adult and pediatric (>15 years) trauma patient population, as well as cases involving sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, and cardiac arrest, • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1-2 in ICU settings and 1:4 in PCU settings, • Responsibilities include titrating drips such as vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics, • Advanced equipment used includes Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, Zoll-Thermoguard, Bell Mont rapid transfuser, and Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry, • No monitor techs; RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips, • 12-hour night shifts with self-scheduling; 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week period, • Floating required to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity and NICU, • Orientation consists of 2 unit-specific shifts and a 12-hour program, • Uses Epic EMR, • Critical thinking, positive attitude, and strong teamwork skills are essential for success, • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas, • Navy blue scrubs are required, • RNs must pass an open book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%, • Must submit reference from a supervisor within the last 12 months and a peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, • Requested time off must be submitted up front and may not exceed 7 days per 13-week contract, • Fast-paced environment with high-acuity trauma cases and frequent transfers\n \n Requirements\n, • Active RN license (State or Compact/NLC), with no pending status or license-related issues, • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required and must be active at time of application, • Minimum two years of ICU experience required, • Must be able to titrate and manage advanced drips, interpret telemetry, and operate ICU monitoring equipment, • Driver’s license required for proof of residency and eligibility, • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility, • Candidates must not be currently or recently (past 12 months) employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility, • No background or license hits permitted, • Will not accept first-time travelers\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
