In this role, you will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and financial performance of commercial solar installation projects executed by GreenSpark’s in-house electrical construction team. The Commercial Electrical Self Performance team performs critical electrical construction scopes internally, reducing reliance on external subcontractors and increasing schedule certainty, quality control, and cost efficiency. The Self Performance Project Manager reports directly to the Manager of Commercial Electrical Self Performance and works closely with Electrical Project Managers, field leadership, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Essential Job Functions & Key Responsibilities: * Direct and manage Self Performance field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning through job close-out and commissioning. * Develop, manage, and track project scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and milestones to ensure stakeholder commitments and company financial objectives are met. * Schedule, conduct, and document site visits and progress inspections before, during, and after construction to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and accurate progress reporting. * Track and report project progress, risks, timelines, and costs; establish consistent communication rhythms with GreenSpark Project Managers and internal teams to align on project needs and priorities. * Proactively identify, assess, and document project risks, contingency plans, and resulting changes in scope, schedule, or cost. * Coordinate vendors and subcontractors across multiple projects simultaneously, including material procurement, equipment rentals, and site logistics. * Manage the flow of information between the field and internal departments, including RFIs, submittals, schedule updates, and change documentation using Procore or other project management tools. * Assist the Electrical Project Manager in developing and tailoring commissioning documentation based on project-specific deliverables. * Support Self Performance project estimating and monthly financial tracking under the guidance of the Electrical Project Manager and Self Performance Manager, utilizing Acumatica or similar ERP systems. * Balance the needs of internal and external stakeholders while maintaining strong client relationships. * Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across Self Performance operations, including developing templates, tools, and processes to improve communication, efficiency, and organization. This role has direct responsibility for day-to-day project execution and financial tracking, with escalation and strategic oversight provided by the Electrical Project Manager and Self Performance Manager. Education & Qualifications: * 3+ years of relevant solar, commercial electrical, or construction experience, with at least 2 years in a project management or project coordination role preferred. * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (5+ years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree). * NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional or equivalent certification (strongly preferred). * Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent (strongly preferred). Key Skills & Competencies: * An enterprising, proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. * Ability to independently make high-level decisions while navigating complex project conditions. * A strong investigative and problem-solving mindset, particularly when addressing challenges related to utilities, site conditions, and customer requirements. * Ability to review and understand multi-trade construction drawings and specifications, including civil, structural, surveying, and electrical scopes. * Strong organizational and process-oriented skills to manage budgets, schedules, documentation, correspondence, and reporting across multiple projects. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project. * Familiarity with Procore, Acumatica, or similar project management and ERP platforms. Work Environment: This role is approximately 75% remote and 25% in-person, with predictable job site visits averaging 3–4 times per month. Additional site presence may be required during critical phases of construction.The position is primarily sedentary when working remotely, with occasional physical activity required during site visits.
