Role Overview The company is seeking an experienced Operations Accounting Manager to provide hands-on oversight across the full accounting operations function, including revenue accounting, joint interest billing (JIB), and accounts payable (AP). This individual will manage and review the work of in-house accountants in each of these areas while coordinating with a third-party outsourced transactional accounting provider that supports day-to-day processing. This is a high-visibility role reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller. The ideal candidate is a technically strong oil and gas accounting professional who thrives in a lean environment, can manage multiple functions simultaneously, and brings the hands-on depth to review and confirm work product across revenue, JIB, and AP. The company operates two separate entities, each requiring independent JIB closes, revenue closes, and related processes. Key Responsibilities Revenue Accounting Oversight • Confirm and review monthly revenue bookings for accuracy and completeness across operated and non-operated properties, • Perform a thorough review of royalty checks, suspense changes, and non-operated revenue, • Prepare and review revenue accrual calculations, • Monitor revenue and JIB deck changes, ensuring ownership and interest updates are reflected accurately, • Oversee semi-monthly revenue check processesJoint Interest Billing (JIB) Oversight, • Oversee JIB close processes across two separate entities, • Review capex accrual entries for accuracy and proper coding, • Perform AFE review and updates, ensuring alignment between field operations and accounting records, • Monitor JIB deck changes and coordinate with land and operations on ownership updatesAccounts Payable Oversight, • Oversee weekly AP check processes, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments, • Conduct new vendor review and approval, including Certificate of Insurance (COI) verification, • Coordinate with the outsourced accounting provider on transactional AP processing and issue resolutionGeneral Management & Coordination, • Serve as the primary liaison between the in-house accounting team and the third-party outsourced accounting provider, ensuring quality control and adherence to internal standards, • Provide day-to-day oversight, coaching, and review for in-house JIB, revenue, and AP accountants, • Coordinate across departments, including land, operations, and finance, to ensure data accuracy and timely close processes, • Support acquisition-related accounting activities, including system setup and integration of acquired properties, • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controlsQualifications (Required), • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, • 10+ years of progressive oil and gas accounting experience with a focus on revenue accounting, JIB, and/or AP, • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience overseeing accounting staff or functions, • Hands-on experience with BOLO oil and gas accounting software (required), • Experience with OpenInvoice (required), • Strong working knowledge of operated and non-operated revenue accounting, including royalty checks, suspense, and deck changes, • Experience with JIB close processes, AFE management, and capex accruals, • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounting functions simultaneously in a lean, fast-paced environment, • Multi-entity accounting experience, including managing separate close processes across entities, • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesPreferred, • CPA designation or equivalent professional certification, • Experience with AFE Navigator (Execute) and/or WellEZ, • Familiarity with outsourced accounting models and coordinating with third-party providers, • Experience supporting acquisition and divestiture activities, including system setup for acquired properties, • Background in Permian Basin operationsWhy This Opportunity, • High-visibility role with direct reporting line to the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller, • Opportunity to oversee the full accounting operations function in a growing, acquisition-active Permian Basin E&P, • A lean team environment where your contributions have a direct and measurable impact, • Stable, privately held company with a seasoned management team and a long-term business model, • Houston-based headquarters with a collaborative, close-knit finance team About Augmentis Augmentis is a specialized recruiting firm focused on accounting, finance, procurement, and engineering talent across the U.S. We partner with growthoriented companies to match highimpact professionals with meaningful roles.
