At Houston Methodist, the Charge Nurse position is a licensed professional Registered Nurse (RN) who, as an experienced clinician, functions at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benner's model of clinical practice. This position creates an environment for the management and delivery of safe patient care. In addition to fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of a clinical nurse, the Charge Nurse position is a role model and coach to department personnel and assists in developing their skills and knowledge. At Houston Methodist, the Senior Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IOM) Technologist position is responsible for performing neurodiagnostic procedures in the Intraoperative monitoring field as well as all IOM modalities required as a registered neurodiagnostic technologist. In addition to performing the duties of the IOM Technologist, this position is efficient in independently performing IOM modalities including SSEPs, TceMEP, EMG (including triggered), ABR's, Phase Reversal and cortical mapping. Job Summary Research Accountabilities: • Conduct clinical sports medicine research using patients within the Memorial Hermann Health System and/or it partners, • Perform research activities including, but not limited to; protocol development, grant proposals, data collection, data analysis, manuscript writing and presenting, • Accountable to the Director of Research, • Clinical duties accountable to the respective Clinic Manager/Director consistent with the duties described for that respective healthcare field, • Teaching and mentoring in the Memorial Hermann Sports and Orthopedic Residencies and/or Fellowships, • Prepare research studies and manage clinical datasets to include statistical analysis, • Pursue national/international orthopedic publications and presentations in peer-reviewed journals and professional organizations, • Work with research staff to manage submission to the Internal Review Board and Memorial Hermanns Study Review panel for study accreditation, • Provide mentorship to Memorial Hermann employees involved in Clinical Research, • Pursue funding for de novo research projects/programs Preferred Qualifications: • PhD, • Previous experience in sports medicine research Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelors or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university-based Physical Therapy program. Licenses/Certifications: Current license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission. Current Certification in Basic Life Support. Advanced Education or clinical certification, preferred. A physical therapist practicing direct access: Education: Doctoral degree along with a residency or fellowship program, OR Licensed therapist with 30 hours of continuing competence activities in differential diagnosis Licenses/Certifications: Current license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission Experience / Skills / Knowledge: * At least five (5) years of clinical experience or four (4) years of clinical experience, with the completion of an accredited residency or fellowship program. * The position requires occasional/frequent lifting up to 75-100 pounds and carrying of up to 30 pounds; prolonged standing; frequent walking, stooping and squatting. Fine hand dexterity, eye-hand coordination, the ability to receive oral and written communication, and to communicate verbally and in writing are also necessary. The visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment, recognize alphanumeric characters, distinguish colors and observe physical characteristics are essential to this position.
