Responsibilities * Collaborate with the chairman/physicians of the department on all aspects of running the service. * Perform annual physics program Audits in collaboration with chief therapist and chief of service * Calibrate and maintain patient management equipment in accordance with applicable regulations and protocols. * Perform all necessary acceptance testing and commissioning for all new patient management equipment. * Assure compliance with all radiation safety and protection regulations and requirements. * Actively participate in CQI/PI programs and activities/ACRO accreditation * Check patient charts to assure the prescribed delivery of radiation. * Teach resident physicians radiation therapy physics, and equipment operation and safety. * Provide technical input in design and construction of patient management rooms, and installation activities. * Assure the appropriate management of brachytherapy patients and radioactive sources. * Serve as consultant to hospital administration and other Departments.
