Job Description The IT Hardware Operations Specialist at the Whitewater Center (Whitewater) is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, tracking and organization of all IT hardware across the property. This role focuses on hands-on hardware support, event setup and breakdown, inventory management and coordination with internal teams and vendors to ensure technology equipment is operational, secure, and well-maintained. The IT Hardware Operations Specialist is a full-time, on-site, benefit-eligible position and reports to the Controller. Responsibilities IT Hardware Oversight • Maintain oversight of all technology equipment across the property, • Track, move, and document IT assets throughout their lifecycle including:, • PC’s and workstations, • TV’s and AV equipment, • Phones and mobile devices, • Point-Of-Sale (POS) Systems and associated equipment (cash drawers, printers, pin pads), • Radio, • iPads and tablets, • Network equipment (switches and access points), • Conference room AV systems, • Perform new employee workstation setups, • Decommission and appropriately retire hardware when applicable Event & Seasonal Setup Support • Support location setup and breakdown based on seasons, events, and group needs, • Assist with race and event technology setup and breakdown (timing, scoring, sound, etc.), • Coordinate technology rentals when necessary (e.g., events, festivals, retail inventory), • Support venue flips for on-site groups Maintenance & Troubleshooting • Perform routine device updates according to established schedules, • Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues, • Coordinate with vendors for repairs and manage return-to-manufacturer (RMA) processes when required, • Identify issues requiring escalation and work with the third-party IT provider to resolve system-level or programming tasks Infrastructure & Organization • Facilitate cabling needs, including running, labeling, and organizing cables, • Ensure IT storage areas, closets, and setup spaces are clean, organized, and properly maintained, • Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware and supplies, • Evaluate and improve processes related to equipment storage, usage, and tracking Coordination & Support • Serve as liaison with 3rd Party IT company, • Monitor and help manage IT service tickets site-wide, • Assist with the implementation of new systems and technologies as needed Requirements • Experience with IT asset management and inventory tracking, • Basic networking knowledge (wired and wireless networks, switches, access points, cabling), • Familiarity with POS hardware and connectivity issues, • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, • Comfortable working with vendors and third-party IT providers, • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during other Whitewater events as needed. Physical Demands • Must be able to work outdoors for sustained periods of time in all weather and environmental conditions., • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds., • Must be able to bend, stand, lean, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods of time., • Must be able to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space., • Ability to work in tight spaces, equipment rooms, both indoors and outdoors as required by events and setups, • Must be able to work in shared spaces with other employees and customers., • All positions as Whitewater require employees to report and work onsite at Whitewater locations.
