Job Description Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Job Description Our Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner performs a vital role in Cedars-Sinai Medical Group dedication to deliver effective and efficient quality health care services to its patients. Together, the collaborative Physician and PA or NP will share responsibility for the health and welfare of our members. Essential duties and responsibilities: • Follow protocols which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing care., • Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent, and non‐urgent presentation., • Select, order, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings., • Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnosis included., • Write orders for tests, procedures, and the implementation and management of therapies by following company protocols., • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician., • Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gasses, radiology, EKG, etc. Educational Requirements for Physician Assistants: • Current unrestricted Physician Assistant license issued by the State of California required, • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate required, • Basic Life Support certificate from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, • Basic Life Support (BLS), • Minimum one (1) year experience as a Physician Assistant (PA) strongly preferred. Educational Requirements for Nurse Practitioners: • Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the Board of Registered Nursing., • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license issued by the State of California., • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate or eligible to obtain., • Furnishing number issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)., • National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioner, • Minimum one year Nurse Practitioner (NP) experience is strongly preferred.
