Job Description We’re hiring experienced structural and combo welders for long-term work in Jacksonville, FL. This project offers steady hours, competitive pay, and a strong opportunity for both local and non-local candidates. Well-experienced welders may not need to test. Non-locals must plan around Tuesday orientations. Local Pay: $29–$30/hr Non-Local: $25/hr + $120 Per Diem Position Overview Welders will perform structural welding, tack welding, metal prep, and fitting support on Navy, MSC, Coast Guard, and commercial vessels. Work includes repairing and installing steel and aluminum structures per NAVSEA, ABS, and USCG standards. This role requires strong experience with structural welding processes and the ability to support fitters when needed. Key Responsibilities • Perform structural welding on steel and aluminum components, • Tack weld parts in place to support shipfitters, • Grind, cut, bevel, and prep material prior to welding, • Use SMAW/FCAW/GMAW equipment for structural welds, • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and layout drawings, • Inspect workpieces and welds for defects, • Operate torches for cutting, preheat, and straightening, • Work on scaffolding platforms, ladders, confined spaces, and elevated areas, • Follow all LOTO, WAF, Hot Work, and shipyard safety procedures Required Skills & Qualifications • Strong structural welding experience (shipyard preferred), • Ability to tack, fit, and support structural assembly, • Ability to interpret drawings, templates, and weld symbols, • Proficiency with SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding processes, • Experience welding steel and aluminum, • Must have Fire Watch, • Must be DBIDS eligible, • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, • Comfortable working around cranes, rigging, and heavy equipment Preferred Experience • 2+ years structural welding or combo welding in a shipyard, • Technical school weld certificates (preferred, not required), • Knowledge of NAVSEA standards (MIL-STD-1689, MIL-STD-248D), • Experience working on Navy/MSC/USCG vessels Apply Today or Call 904-222-3779
