Summary: Under the general direction of the Engineering Manager, this position develops and initiates systems, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent quality, with the most efficient practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities – include the following. Other duties may be assigned · Design and develop efficient manufacturing processes and systems for the production of goods or services. · Analyze existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement appropriate solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and safety. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, maintenance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration of processes and systems. · Conduct process audits, collect and analyze data, and generate reports to assess performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose corrective actions. · Utilize statistical methods and tools, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and process mapping, to analyze and optimize process variables, cycle times, and resource allocation. · Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams. · Identify and implement automation and technology solutions to improve process efficiency and reduce manual intervention. · Collaborate with equipment vendors and suppliers to select, install, and validate new equipment and technologies. · Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards by monitoring process parameters, conducting risk assessments, and implementing appropriate control measures. · Train and educate production staff on new processes, equipment, and procedures to ensure smooth implementation and adherence to established standards. · Continuously monitor industry trends, advancements, and best practices to stay updated with the latest process engineering techniques and technologies. · Actively participate in all Lapp Operating Systems, Lean, Continuous Improvement and other improvement methodologies in order to improve all aspects of the entire value stream. · Responsible for communicating and making changes to work orders. · Key member of Lapp Americas Environmental regulations and customer documentation. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to calculate percentages and plot data on graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Lotus Notes, SAP, CAD package, and be proficient in the use of Excel and Microsoft Word software. The base salary range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 plus participation in LAPP's bonus plan.     We are seeking a highly skilled and precision-oriented Tool and Die Maker / Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and repairing custom tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in our production processes. You will operate a variety of machine tools and work with precise tolerances to ensure the highest quality of our manufactured components. Key Responsibilities • Fabrication & Repair: Read and interpret complex blueprints, CAD drawings, and specifications to construct, modify, and repair intricate tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures., • Precision Machining: Set up and operate manual and CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and EDM (Electrical Discharge Machines)., • Quality Control: Perform precise measurements using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMM equipment to ensure parts meet exacting tolerances (often within $\pm 0.0001$ inches)., • Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on dies and tooling to minimize production downtime., • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and suggest design improvements for better efficiency and tool longevity., • Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, strictly adhering to all OSHA and company safety protocols.
