This role is ideal for an experienced pharmacy technician who is highly organized and detail‐oriented, with a passion for learning and mastering new skills. You’ll partner across departments, maintain cost‐effective inventory levels, communicate shortages or substitutions promptly, and uphold the financial accuracy of purchasing and supply management. What You’ll Do · Order all chemicals, drugs, compounding supplies, office supplies, and cleaning supplies based on daily business needs. · Research vendors to secure the best pricing, discounts, and reliable inventory while maintaining fiscal responsibility. · Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, and budget goals to prevent outages, overstocking, or waste. · Work closely with the Lab team to ensure compounding chemicals and supplies are consistently available. · Communicate supply issues or drug shortages promptly and provide guidance on available substitutes. · Organize, label, and maintain all supply storage areas including lab, shipping, cleaning, and office storage to support efficient workflows. · Check in all incoming orders daily and accurately enter cost, AWP, NDC, and related information into pharmacy systems. · Track inventory loss, returns, expired goods, and ensure proper documentation for finance. · Review and communicate price changes that impact compounding, purchasing, or billing workflows. · Separate invoice costs (chemicals, supplies, equipment, etc.) to support accurate accounting reconciliation. · Manage inventory levels for high‐use items, completing weekly reviews to ensure supply availability. · Process returns of unused or expired drugs monthly and maintain compliance with proper disposal procedures. · Run, save, and organize monthly inventory reports for leadership and finance needs. · Partner with the Pharmacist‐in‐Charge on cost‐of‐goods considerations, including establishing cash prices for new formulas. · Support reimbursement dispute resolution through accurate documentation and timely follow‐up. · Coordinate product recalls, ensuring proper communication and documentation. · Assist with internal and external audits by maintaining complete and accurate purchasing and inventory records. · Lead the annual medication inventory process and participate in periodic cycle counts. What We’re Looking For · Experienced Pharmacy Technician (active CPhT licensing) with a strong understanding of pharmacy operations and a desire to expand into purchasing and inventory leadership. · Exceptionally organized, detail‐driven, and consistent; someone who understands that every detail matters in a compounding environment. · Financially savvy, with proven experience working within a budget and making fiscally responsible decisions; able to build trust quickly through sound judgment and early wins. · Clear, confident communicator who is comfortable collaborating across departments via email, instant messaging, phone, and occasional speaking in team meetings. · Analytical and proactive, able to interpret data, anticipate inventory needs, and always be “the person on top of it” before issues arise. · Adaptable and steady under pressure, thriving in fast‐moving environments and navigating change with professionalism and ease. · Tech‐forward and efficient, with advanced PC skills including strong Excel proficiency (Excel training preferred). · A natural problem‐solver with strong prioritization and accountability skills; internally motivated to deliver excellent results without needing constant oversight. · High School Diploma or GED required. Why Join Us? Impactful Work – Your role directly supports safe, accurate, and timely patient care. Skill Development – Gain experience in procurement, budgeting, vendor relations, and operations.
