Job DescriptionSalary: $25 per hour POSITION TITLE: Building Custodian CLASSIFICATION:Administration, regular, full time, non-exempt SUPERVISOR: Facilities Coordinator POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains and enhances the organization's property and patient and staff well-being by cleaning and maintaining all areas of the interior and exterior of the building. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines daily in the NATIVE Project clinic, treatment, prevention, administration, and community center areas., • Weekly or monthly duties include using ladders to dust and wash walls, cleans ceilings, and dusts light fixtures. Washes windows and doors. Deep clean selected areas of the building on a weekly/monthly/annual rotation., • Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas. May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions., • May also sweep walks, rake leaves, trim shrubbery, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks., • Responsible for trash removal, recycling, stocking restrooms, and other areas after cleaning and disinfecting common areas used by patients and staff., • Ordering, purchasing, and storing supplies needed for building maintenance. Assist with maintaining an accurate property inventory list., • Other duties as needed for building maintenance. WORK ENVIRONMENT Building maintenance performs their work in a healthcare setting so they may come into contact with patients with contagious illnesses. QUALIFICATIONS This position requires the following qualifications to perform the above duties and carry out the above responsibilities: • High school diploma., • Has strong working knowledge of OSHA, WSHA, and best practices in the maintenance field., • Has demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines., • Has demonstrated the ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a timely manner., • Has the ability to work in a team environment, both in leadership and peer relationships., • Can capably operate a variety of building maintenance, yard, and office equipment, such as a computer, photocopier, scanner, printer, postage meter, etc., • Can capably use Microsoft Word or other word processing program and has the ability to be trained to capably use other software programs, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook., • Has ability to move 10-50 lb. items, walk, sit, stand, bend, lift and move large items and handle stress., • Has the ability to travel locally, make purchases, run errands, or order and process supplies and purchase requests (RTs)., • Uses Sacred Hospitality in serving patients and peers., • Supports recovery-based lifestyles and patient outcomes., • Can successfully pass a criminal background check, OIG check, and a pre-employment UA/BA.
