Job Description Job Summary: This position is responsible for accurately calculating the total costs associated with a new project within renewable energy, including solar, energy storage, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. This includes identifying and understanding project requirements and designs, determining key variables, and directing/influencing based on technical knowledge with both internal and external entities to HOLT Renewables. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development. Essential Functions: • Model, promote, reinforce, and reward the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission, • Manages project estimates from inception to final customer proposal handoff, • Travels to Project sites to assess and analyze the feasibility for renewable integration, • Gathers and analyzes technical information, blueprints, and specifications to determine design and component options and requirements for product, • Assists on alternative value engineering estimates, • Analyzes with team members the conditions and processes necessary to reach goal – timing & cost, • Understands project requirements and determine key variables for cost and other estimates, • Reviews critical components with vendors to understand cost effectiveness and compatibility, • Computes costs by analyzing materials, labor, and schedule requirements, • Implements use of relevant software for data analysis to continuously improve quoting process, • Maintains an up-to-date cost database for equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractors, • Creates and maintains open lines of communication between customers, vendors, and internal departments such as sales, procurement, project management, engineering, and construction operations, • Collaborates with Project Sales team to consider customer specifications, aesthetic desires, identified customer pain points, and desired budget objectives, • Collaborates with Engineering Division to consider Project engineering requirements, including state and local codes, industry standards, procurement, installation, budget, schedule, and long-term operation, • Maintains technical knowledge and proficiency by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications, • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards, • Requires regular and punctual employee attendance, • Proficient in reading and quantifying units in Civil, Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Environmental, and Landscaping Construction drawings, • Working knowledge of PVSyst, Helioscope, and Autocad, • Proficient with PVBid, Accubid, MS Excel or similar estimating software, • Knowledge of renewable energy industry to include solar, energy storage, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, • Knowledge of supply chain dynamics, • Strong technical aptitude – ability to maintain and quickly learn new concepts and estimating tools, • Strategic thinker with very strong quantitative and qualitative analytic abilities and creative problem-solving skills, • Desire and ability to innovate and improve upon current processes, • Ability to identify complex problems and to review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions, • Strong organization skills, detailed-oriented, and ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline driven environment, • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including ability to consult with engineering, support, management, and customers, • Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills, • Self-starter with ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment, • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related discipline preferred, • Three or more years of of related work experience preferred (i.e. demonstrated experience in PV cost estimating, Commercial or Industrial Electrical estimating, General Commercial Construction estimating, and/or procurement of solar equipment, materials and services), • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing estimating software (i.e. PVBid, Accubid, PVSyst, Helioscope) required, • NABCEP Certification preferred, • Significant amount of time standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, and reaching, • Constant movement and use of hands, this position requires good manual dexterity, • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, balance, coordination, and stamina, • Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals including alarms and instructions, • Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, • Be able to maneuver safely and work underneath equipment, • Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment, • This position frequently communicates with employees, vendors, and stakeholders; Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations, • Frequently works outdoors around moving mechanical parts and noise level may be loud at times, • Exposure to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity, • Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment, • Regularly perform work in cramped spaces, awkward positions and/or high places, • Exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings, • Industry standard PPE and appropriate safety equipment required Please note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
