Dance to Unit is committed to creating a positive experiences through dance and discussions to deeper understand things like acceptance, compassion, respect, etc. Position: We are looking for people with an interest in education and dance to assist our teaching artists in leading class in the Dance to Unite way. The will help the teaching artist facilitate the Circle Talk discussion while empowering and assisting the children in learning their dance throughout the school year. Best fit majors can be anything from dance, arts, education, social emotional learning, social justice, or civil service. While no professional experience is required, substantial background in dance is required. Pay: Dance to Unite provides the opportunity to train, at no cost, in the Dance to Unite teaching method and gain the skills to become a paid Dance to Unite teaching artist in NYC public schools. This starts as an unpaid part-time internship that can lead to paid positions in the future. Dance to Unite would be happy to sign off on necessary credits for the students as well.

Position Overview: CPNYC is seeking to hire Part-Time After School Group Leaders for our Bronx location. Must work Monday - Friday 2PM - 6PM Essential Job Functions - Provide overall supervision to our scholars during the after school hours - Carry out the daily schedule with activities that include arts and crafts, homework help, reading, sports & fitness, etc. - Implement the CPNYC curriculum, helping school age children improve literacy competencies, values, and physical fitness in an activity-based environment - Assist with planning and creating innovative age-appropriate activities - Develop lesson plans to conduct them daily; read, tell stories, lead songs and games - Help maintain enrollment and daily attendance records - Assist children with homework and guide students in their academic growth - To conduct field trips or attend events, individuals will use public transportation or traverse city streets, occasionally ascend/descend stairs and exposed to outside weather conditions - An employee is expected to stand 50% of during the shift - Ability to work with youth and the general public. - Other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skill and Experience - At least one year of child care experience in an after school setting - Bilingual in Spanish - Minimum of an Associate’s degree or college credits, with relevant experience - Bachelor’s degree preferred; areas of study; General Education (K-8), Special Education, Social Work, Teaching, Professional Child Care, Psychology, or related fields - Energetic and enthusiastic in working with youth COMPENSATION: Commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. The hourly pay rate range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. The Assistant Director of Youth Services plays a vital role in supporting the overall mission of the Shorefront Y, fostering year-round youth engagement, cultivating teen leadership, planning and managing day camp programming that reflect Jewish values, ensuring impactful experiences for campers, teens and staff. Key Responsibilities Camp Leadership · Design and implement a comprehensive camp curriculum that aligns with Jewish traditions, values, and culture. · Ensure the integration of a variety of activities such as music, arts, science, sports and more into the daily camp experience. · Mentor youth interested in joining camp staff in leadership roles, preparing them for future positions within the camp structure and beyond. · Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and provide ongoing mentorship to specialists, ensuring they are prepared for their roles. · Provide support to the Camp Director with day-to-day operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and logistics. · Act as a liaison between campers, parents, staff, and community partners to address concerns and provide clear communication. · Assist in marketing and outreach efforts to promote camp enrollment and program success. · Step into the role of Camp Director when needed during their absence. Year-Round Teen Program Development & Engagement · Develop and lead year-round programs that target teen engagement. · Plan and facilitate events, workshops, and social gatherings aimed at building a strong teen community. · Work closely with local schools and community organizations to expand outreach and increase teen participation. · Utilize social media and other digital platforms to promote year-round teen programming, creating a continuous connection between camp seasons. · Design and facilitate leadership development initiatives and workshops that focus on team-building, conflict resolution, public speaking, and mentorship. · Ensure that programming reflects Jewish values. Community Engagement and Networking · Play a key role in planning, promoting and facilitating all Shorefront Y community events. · Attend and represent the Shorefront Y at relevant community events, conferences, and gatherings. Qualifications · Experience in camp leadership, youth programming, or Jewish education. Bachelor's degree in Education, Jewish Studies, Youth Development is a major plus! · Proven ability to develop and implement engaging programming for children, teens, and staff. · Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, with experience mentoring staff and young leaders. · Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. · Strong knowledge of Jewish traditions, values, and practices, with a passion for fostering Jewish identity in youth. · Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. · Proficiency in social media and digital engagement tools.
