Job Description Summary/Objective Effectively manages projects and activities on a range of project types and sizes. Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of team members and coordinating with internal and external project team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to all Quality Control/Quality Assurance requirements. Participates in marketing and business development activities and may participate in the recruiting and staff development processes. This position emphasizes technical ability with a basic understanding of the financial and marketing aspects of the business. Project initiation, execution and completion are integral with a growing understanding of other aspects in the project life cycle. Essential Functions • Participate in proposal development and interviews for a range of project sizes and types, • Participate in business development efforts through understanding the local client market and participating in professional organizations, • Assist in reviewing agreements, • Participate in identifying project team and staffing requirements consistent with contractual obligations, • Initiate projects with the accounting department and participate in monthly invoicing of projects and tracking accounts’ receivables, • Lead kick-off meeting(s) to convey scope, tasks, and budgets to team members, • Collaborate with client and stakeholders to develop a project schedule which aligns with client’s project delivery goals, • Manage day-to-day activities for projects of varying complexity and coordinate with internal and external multidisciplinary team members to ensure deliverables meet project requirements, • Manage project communication and deliverables to ensure the quality of documentation and professionalism, • Delegate tasks and lead the team in developing design criteria, performing analyses, and preparing design documents on a wide range of project types and sizes, • Conduct Quality Control/Quality Assurance reviews of work completed on assigned projects, • Prepare and conduct client and stakeholder presentations with support from senior management, • Monitor project financial performance and update project staffing requirements to meet financial goals, • Collaborate with senior managers to strategize successful project delivery, financial performance, and risk mitigation, • Lead construction administration activities including resolving construction related issues, disputes, and disagreements, • Conduct the close-out documentation process internally and with contractors, clients, and agencies; identify lessons learned to be presented to internal staff members, • Assist in the authoring of project descriptions and resumes to be incorporated into marketing materials, • Maintain effective working relationships with team members and clients; mentor and support less experienced team members, • Ensure compliance with all TERRA standards and guidelines, • May participate in recruiting activities, • Perform other duties as required Education/Experience • Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline, • 8+ years of applicable engineering experience, • Project management experience preferred, • Professional Licensure preferred, • PTOE Certification preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Demonstrated ability to successfully engage with professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment and communicate with clients and build relationships and trust, • Proficient in managing teams and projects across multiple disciplines, • Strong ability to convey information through effective verbal and written communication, • Highly proficient with computer-aided design software and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering., • Strong proficiency in general documentation software such as Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Bluebeam, • Proficient using project management software and tools for financial management, reporting, and resource utilization, • Demonstrated public speaking, presentation, and leadership abilities., • Demonstrated understanding of industry and construction practices, methodologies, and best engineering practices and leverages that understanding to lead engineering efforts through all project stages, • Able to conduct site visits as needed, may require a valid driver's license, • Effectively maintains office and field health & safety requirements and protocols, • Maintains a work schedule conducive to team collaboration and project-specific requirements Physical Requirements • Involves sitting a considerable amount of the time, but requires the ability to inspect work and supervise project teams on a construction site or other field location, • May exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to move objects, • Occasionally lifts and carries up to 25 pounds, • Considerable time is spent at a workstation using a computer and using various forms of communication (telephone, email, messaging, etc.), • Field work includes exposure to outside weather conditions and various environmental conditions depending on the site, • Physical activities include walking and occasional stooping and crouching This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties and/or responsibilities required of the employee for this position.
