MUST HAVE CV EXPERIENCE Unit Profile 6/16/25 Hospital: Research Medical Center Location: Kansas City Address: 2316 E Meyer Blvd Unit Name: CVOR Building: Cost Center:70327 General Information Unit Specifics: • Number of Beds : 15 ORs, • Patient Ratios :1:1, • Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) :level 1 trauma hospital with a heart program, • Type of equipment :, • Documentation system: Meditech, • Scheduling requirements: M-F, • On Call Requirements: yes, night and weekend call shifts, • Floating policy: float to main OR if no CVOR cases, • Certifications: Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT), • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, • (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required upon hire, • Two years prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided, • Must be competent to perform as lead in all of the following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, Burn and Vascular Surgery, • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date, • CST) Certified Surgical Technologist, or (TS-C) Tech in Surgery - Certified, or Associate Degree, or Vocational School Graduate Hiring profile Requested Skill Set: BLS, The surgical technologist in the first scrub role handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the heart surgical procedures. The OR Tech III understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. The OR Tech III has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. When the OR Tech III is in the second scrub role they assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during the operative procedure by carrying out tasks including sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors and manipulating the endoscopic camera. Must have : experience with cardiac surgeries including coronary artery bypass, valve replacements, davinci assisted thoracoscopy Advanced skills needed: Procedures performed on unit: cardiac, general, vascular, neuro, spine, trauma, ortho, ortho/trauma, burn, ent, transplant, robotic Certifications Required: Dress Code : (Required uniform) • Surgical scrubs provided Unit Guidelines/Policies : Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines.
