Job Description Heavy Industrial Superintendent ($5,000 SIGN ON BONUS!) Lead industrial projects with expertise in mechanical and structural systems Location: New Mexico | Type: Full-time About the Opportunity: Meridian Engineering is a leading heavy industrial contractor specializing in mining, water/wastewater facilities, and complex infrastructure. From booster pump systems in mine operations to treatment plant upgrades, our work demands precision, safety, and strong leadership. We are seeking a Heavy Industrial Superintendent who combines technical expertise with people leadership. This role is central to Meridian’s cultural transformation, leading by example, setting high expectations, and fostering a collaborative environment where planning, execution, and communication drive results. Successful Team Members in This Role Will… • Lead field crews with professionalism, consistency, and accountability, • Build strong relationships with teams, subcontractors, and clients through clear communication, • Oversee installation of industrial piping, pumps, and mechanical systems, • Coordinate structural steel and concrete work in support of mechanical installations, • Plan schedules thoroughly, follow through on commitments, and ensure timely execution, • Encourage participation and problem-solving by inviting input from the field, • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and site-specific safety requirements, • Begin with a crew huddle focused on safety, schedules, and project goals, • Lead daily walk-arounds to check jobsite conditions and ensure heavy equipment is inspected before use, • Reinforce safe practices for trenching, fall protection, confined spaces, and material handling, • Oversee piping, pump, or mechanical system installation at an active project site, • Coordinate subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries to maintain workflow, • Inspect work for quality, safety, and adherence to industrial specifications, • Maintain open communication with project managers, field staff, and owners, • Projects delivered safely on time, and within budget, • Zero tolerance for unsafe practices; strong record of safety compliance and proactive prevention, • Crews motivated by strong, respectful leadership and clear expectations, • Daily equipment inspections and hazard checks completed consistently, • Effective implementation of fall prevention, trench safety, and job-specific safety controls, • High-quality installations with minimal rework and downtime, • Consistent follow-through on planning and scheduling commitments, • 7+ years of experience in industrial construction supervision (mining, water/wastewater, or similar), • Strong knowledge of industrial plumbing, piping systems, and pump installations, • Familiarity with structural steel and concrete work in industrial environments, • Proven ability to lead crews and manage subcontractors effectively, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative leadership style, • Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects with consistency, • Solid understanding of safety standards for industrial projects (OSHA/MSHA) At Meridian, we’re more than a general contractor — we’re builders of infrastructure that matter.
