Job Description JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Education Program Coordinator, the Education Assistant will work with our at-risk youth and those with intellectual/developmental disabilities within our Residential Treatment Program to support the goal of improving educational outcomes for students in the foster care system. They will plan and organize all daily activities of the Pulte Promise Learning Center (PPLC). The Education Assistant along with the Education Program Coordinator will assess each youth and create individual learning plans to meet the educational needs of the youth served through the Pulte Promise Learning Center. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES: • Completes education assessments of youth., • Creates individual education plans for youth, including daily/weekly lesson plan goals in line with the standards set by the state of Florida for lesson planning., • Establishes a plan and method to deliver after school homework help through the PPLC. Coordinates with the Education Program Coordinator to create a plan for each youth that is in line with what their Hillsborough County Schools classroom teacher is working on., • Establishes procedures and expectations to assist students in recovering lost credits. Creates a method to evaluate and report progress., • Assists in tracking in-school educational services (i.e.- Extended Learning Programs) and communicates educational progress with youths’ teachers via phone, email, and school conferences., • Assists with data collection on student progress towards education goals., • Works in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team including but not limited to mental health therapists, BCBA’s, RBT’s, LPN, cottage caregivers, case managers, social workers, bio parents, and residential leadership., • The Academic Instructor is responsible to take the initiative and advocate as needed to remove barriers to ensure the children/youth at CHN have access to all available academic assistance, services and resources on campus, in the community and within the school system that will help them achieve educational goals. Expands and maintains a high utilization of the PPLC., • Assists with the recruitment and interviewing tutors and volunteers and cross training as needed., • Tracks volunteer hours, via Volunteer Log/Binder and assists in ensuring all volunteers have completed appropriate forms and documents to assist in the PPLC., • Tracks youth’s weekly attendance of the PPLC and rewards positive behaviors through the use of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in place at CHN., • Assists the Education Program Coordinator with updates and maintenance of the weekly Residential Learning Center Schedule and creates a monthly calendar of events to include: activities on days off from school (fall, winter, spring, and summer break), enrichment activities, and life skills., • May attend school meetings as needed., • Schedule and facilitate monthly life skills classes for all youth on campus and document classes in MyEvolve., • Supervises and oversees Learning Center Activities, In Home Schooling (IHS), and after school programing for all CHN youth, ensuring that youth’s education plans are being followed., • Works collaboratively with residential staff in the learning center to ensure a positive and therapeutic learning environment., • Provides Trauma informed care, utilizing CPI and TOOLs techniques when working with youth in order to prevent potential problem behavior, promote positive behavior and de-escalate incidents., • Provides transportation in agency vehicles in accordance with agency policy and procedure. Abides by all Florida state highways and local traffic laws. Demonstrate consistency and proficiency in the regular utilization of agency vehicle logs as required by policy and procedures., • Respond as directed to campus emergencies or designated locations for crisis or natural disaster., • Works within the philosophy and practices of The Children's Home Network., • Other duties as assigned. Job Description The PRN Developmental Youth Caregiver to assists in providing for the daily care, safety and welfare for a cottage program of youth ages 6-17, this includes working with children in ASD and/or with intellectual/developmental disabilities and providing support and guidance with daily living skills, hygiene and self-care in a therapeutic residential setting. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Works within the framework of the philosophy, function and personnel practices of The Children’s Home Network., • Provides or arranges program required services in a manner that is sensitive to age, culture, religion, dietary needs, native language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other important individual needs of each child/youth., • Youth Caregivers plan and implement recreational activities on a daily basis that are developmentally and culturally appropriate for children up to 17 years of age., • Provides milieu services to teach youth life skills, to include but not limited to: goal setting, problem resolution, educational activities, daily routines, social skills development, employability skills, anger management, crisis management, hygiene skills, cleanliness, housekeeping, cooking, meal routines, and bedtime routines., • Works collaboratively with the treatment team to facilitate therapeutic relationships for the children in group and individual settings. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Perform daily cleaning tasks in assigned areas such as youth rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and kitchens., • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, and mirrors., • Conduct floor care: Sweep, mop, polish and vacuum floors in all areas, including common areas, resident rooms, and offices., • Dust and polish furniture, surfaces, and fixtures., • Empty trash and recycling bins., • Clean interior and exterior windows, removing dirt and grime on regular basis, • Clean and maintain kitchen areas, including appliances, counters, and cupboards., • Clean and sanitize high-touch areas, including door handles and light switches, • Ensure proper use and disposal of cleaning solutions and chemicals, following safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions., • Ensure that areas are free of hazards., • Restock cleaning supplies and ensure all cleaning equipment is in working order, • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities., • Manage and maintain cleaning schedules and inventory, • Coordinate with residential staff to ensure cleaning aligns with youth routines, • Support setup/cleanup for special events or group activities., • Participate in basic training related to trauma-informed care, • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor., • Maintain a calm, orderly space to support the emotional well-being of youth., • Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education & Experience: • At least 1 years’ experience in residential or commercial cleaning preferred, but not required, • Proficiency in using cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively, • Knowledge of various cleaning methods and techniques, • Minimum six (6) months’ experience with children, • Certification in custodial or a related field is an asset Licenses & Certifications: • First Aid and CPR Certified or ability to obtain within 30 days of new hire date (classes available onsite)., • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license with no record of criminal driving offense of license suspension. Must be insurable under CHN’s current auto insurance policy., • Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening. Duties/Responsibilities: • Grand Jury Testimony and Deposition Transcripts shall be typed in an original and delivered within the turnaround times set forth., • All regular transcripts will be completed and delivered on or before the 10th business day after the date a witness testifies in the Grand Jury., • A regular transcript shall be delivered for each witness testimony when requested on or before the 10th business day after the request is received., • Intermediate transcripts shall be completed and delivered on or before the 5th business day after the request is received., • Daily Grand Jury transcripts shall be delivered before 9:30am of the following business day after the conclusion of a day's proceedings., • expedited transcripts shall be delivered by 9:00pm the same day of the proceedings., • Proceedings are scheduled for 9am-12pm and 1pm-5pm with a one hour lunch break., • The Court Reporter is guaranteed payment of a minimum of three hours., • All proceedings shall be recorded and A read back capability is required.
