Job Description POSITION SUMMARY – CASHIER Training at our Spanish Fork location As a cashier at Aubergine Kitchen, you are the first person our customers interact with — and that makes all the difference! Your smile, joy, and attention when welcoming each guest help create a memorable first impression and convey the warm energy of our brand. KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Greet customers with joy and hospitality, creating a positive and welcoming first impression., • Assist customers efficiently and clearly, answering menu questions, suggesting combinations, and guiding them through their choices., • Have full knowledge of our products, including ingredients, vegan options, gluten-free items, and dietary restrictions., • Accurately input orders into the system, ensuring speed and precision., • Handle problems and unexpected situations calmly and empathetically, always aiming for a quick and satisfying solution for the customer., • Offer additional products to customers whenever possible to increase average ticket and boost sales., • Answer the phone politely and efficiently, following company standards., • Keep the dessert and drink display full, clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times., • Maintain a clean and organized cashier station, reflecting care and professionalism., • Communicate clearly with the team to ensure accurate order fulfillment., • Follow up on special requests and make sure they are prepared and delivered as requested., • Follow Aubergine Kitchen standards, representing the brand with responsibility and dedication., • Collaborate with the team, helping in other areas as needed, such as clearing tables, collecting dishes, sweeping the floor, or assisting the production line., • The night shift cashier must assist with restaurant closing duties, including cleaning tasks in various areas as needed., • Demonstrate proactivity by constantly seeking ways to improve the customer experience and overall efficiency. TEAMWORK WITH A CUSTOMER-FOCUSED MINDSET At Aubergine Kitchen, we are all responsible for providing an excellent customer experience. In addition to your daily duties, you may also be asked to assist in other areas or tasks during busy times or slow periods, such as: • Clearing bowls and utensils from tables after use., • Helping clean and organize the dining area (tables, chairs, floors)., • Restocking disposable utensils, napkins, and bags at the self-service station., • Supporting the team or other departments whenever needed, always focused on customer satisfaction. REQUIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: • English speaking – Ability to communicate clearly in English (essential requirement)., • Friendliness and excellent customer service, conveying positivity and warmth., • Strong communication to answer questions about the menu, ingredients, and dietary restrictions., • Speed and efficiency in customer service and while using the point-of-sale system (TOAST POS)., • Organizational skills to handle orders and payments while ensuring information accuracy., • Attention to detail to avoid order entry or payment mistakes., • Professional demeanor, patience, and empathy, especially during busy times., • Commitment to keeping the counter clean and maintaining a professional appearance., • Growth mindset, motivation, and willingness to learn continuously., • Ability to adapt in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • Must be at least 16 years old., • Prior experience as a cashier, customer service, or in hospitality is preferred., • Must successfully complete initial company training., • Must present a valid Food Handler Certificate within 14 days of hiring. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Available to work 4 to 5 shifts per week, including Friday or Saturday, and on weekends and holidays., • Willingness to stand and walk for extended periods., • Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 50 pounds (approx. 22 kg).
