Job Description Job Title: Sanitation Worker Job Description The Sanitation Worker is responsible for thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing all machinery, equipment, and facility areas to maintain a safe, hygienic environment for the production and packaging of high-quality food products. This role involves working in a regulated food manufacturing setting, following GMP and SOP standards, and performing physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience with operating a floor scrubber is a plus. SHIFT: 6;30am to 3pm - Monday to Friday. Responsibilities • Clean and sanitize all production machinery and equipment according to established sanitation procedures and schedules., • Maintain cleanliness of production areas, including sweeping, mopping, and operating floor scrubbers as needed., • Perform general janitorial and housekeeping duties throughout the facility to support a clean and organized work environment., • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and HAACP guidelines while performing sanitation tasks., • Sanitize production lines and equipment between product runs to prevent cross-contamination and ensure product quality., • Clean and sanitize areas used for product picking and packaging to meet food safety standards., • Use appropriate cleaning agents and sanitation tools safely and effectively as directed., • Inspect cleaned equipment and areas to verify that sanitation standards are met and report any issues or concerns., • Support production operations by responding promptly to sanitation needs during and between shifts., • Lift, move, and handle materials and equipment, including items weighing up to 75 pounds, as part of sanitation and cleaning tasks., • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attendance and punctuality., • Assist team members and help out in different areas as needed, demonstrating flexibility with duties and tasks., • Adhere to all safety policies, including the use of required personal protective equipment such as hair nets, safety glasses, and work boots., • Follow all facility rules regarding jewelry, attire, and personal hygiene in a food manufacturing environment., • Ability to work in a GMP/SOP environment, including consistent use of hair nets, safety glasses, and other required protective gear., • Capability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly., • Demonstrated ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment., • Strong attendance and reliability, with a commitment to being on time and present for scheduled shifts., • Experience working in a manufacturing environment., • Experience working with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in a food or similar regulated setting., • Production experience in a plant, warehouse, or manufacturing facility., • Experience cleaning machinery and production equipment., • Experience with general cleaning, janitorial, or industrial sanitation duties, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing., • Willingness to put in extra hours when needed and work overtime., • Experience in food manufacturing environments is a plus., • Familiarity with HAACP guidelines and food safety practices is beneficial., • Experience using industrial floor scrubbers or similar cleaning equipment is an advantage., • Experience in housekeeping, janitorial work, or industrial cleaning is helpful., • Comfort working in environments that are cold in the winter and hot in the summer., • Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn different roles or tasks. Work Environment This position is based in a food manufacturing facility that operates under strict CGMP and HAACP guidelines. The production floor is not climate controlled, so it can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Work boots are required, and all employees must follow CGMP policies, including wearing appropriate hair netting, safety glasses, and other required protective equipment. Jewelry is not permitted in production and sanitation areas to maintain food safety standards. The role involves working on the production floor and in other facility areas that require consistent cleaning and sanitation. The available schedule includes a first shift from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime regularly available as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pennsauken, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.80 - $20.80/hr.
