Position Summary The AAMFT Approved Supervisor will provide structured, individualized, and group clinical supervision to pre-licensure counseling students working toward CPC (Certified Professional Counselor) and LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) licensure. This role requires a nuanced understanding of neurodevelopmental and neurodivergent presentations, along with a commitment to affirming, ethical clinical practice. Supervision will be delivered on a weekly basis in accordance with AAMFT standards and applicable state licensure board requirements. Key Responsibilities • Provide a minimum of one (1) hour of individual or two (2) hours of group clinical supervision per supervisee per week, consistent with AAMFT supervision standards and state licensure board requirements for CPC and LMFT tracks., • Review and co-sign progress notes, treatment plans, and clinical documentation completed by supervisees in a timely manner., • Monitor supervisee caseloads to ensure appropriate case assignment based on scope of competency, training level, and client needs., • Orient supervisees to neurodiversity-affirming frameworks, including strengths-based models, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care as applied to neurodivergent populations., • Facilitate reflective practice, professional identity development, and ethical decision-making through structured supervision conversations., • Develop and maintain individual learning goals and supervision contracts for each supervisee at the start of the supervisory relationship., • Conduct formal supervisee evaluations at regular intervals and provide ongoing feedback on clinical skills, professionalism, and progress toward licensure competencies., • Respond promptly to supervisee-reported clinical crises and provide consultation support when complex cases arise involving neurodivergent clients., • Maintain accurate supervision logs and documentation required by state licensure boards for CPC and LMFT candidates., • Participate in periodic team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities as scheduled., • Model and uphold the practice's commitment to culturally-responsive, neurodiversity-affirming, and ethical clinical care in all supervisory interactions., • Current, active AAMFT Approved Supervisor credential (or AAMFT Approved Supervisor Candidate status actively working toward full approval)., • Active, unrestricted licensure as an LMFT (or equivalent MFT license) in good standing., • Minimum of five (5) years of post-licensure clinical experience, with demonstrated experience serving neurodivergent populations., • Eligible or authorized under state board rules to provide supervision toward both CPC and LMFT licensure pathways., • Strong working knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnostic considerations relevant to neurodevelopmental and neurodivergent presentations., • Familiarity with neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based, and trauma-informed clinical frameworks., • Demonstrated ability to provide culturally-responsive supervision and to address intersectionality in clinical and supervisory contexts., • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills., • Advanced training in autism, ADHD, or related neurodevelopmental conditions, • Experience supervising both CPC and LMFT licensure candidates simultaneously, • Familiarity with Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), DBT, or PDA-informed approaches, • Experience providing telehealth-based clinical services or supervision, • Training or lived experience related to neurodivergence, • Background in systemic or family therapy with neurodivergent family systems, • Experience with sensory processing, co-occurring mental health conditions, and late-identified neurodivergent adults, • Frequency: Weekly individual and/or group supervision sessions per supervisee, in alignment with AAMFT standards and state board requirements., • Format: In-person, telehealth, or hybrid — to be determined based on practice needs and supervisor preference., • Caseload: Supervisor will oversee a defined cohort of CPC and LMFT students; exact caseload determined collaboratively., • Documentation: Supervisee case logs, supervision logs, and evaluations must be completed in a timely fashion using practice-approved templates.
