Job Description Overview The Analytical Chemist 1 performs routine analytical testing under supervision, supporting the generation of quality data to advance pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. Core Responsibilities * Conduct routine analyses (e.g., HPLC, UV, KF, FTIR) following established methods and SOPs. * Prepare samples, reagents, and standards; ensure proper instrument calibration and maintenance. * Document experimental details and results accurately in lab notebooks and electronic systems. * Support method development for raw materials, product intermediates, and products to support the safety and efficacy of clinical trial material. * Assist in maintenance and calibration of instruments, coordinating service when required. * Participate in laboratory housekeeping and safety initiatives to maintain a compliant environment. * Support method qualification and transfer activities under guidance of senior chemists. * Assist with inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies. * Escalate analytical issues to senior chemists and collaborate on resolutions. * Draft methods, specifications, and analytical test methods. * Other duties as assigned. Technical Competencies * Basic understanding of chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. * Ability to follow methods and SOPs accurately and consistently. * Knowledge of GMP/GLP concepts and data integrity principles. * Competency in using laboratory software for data entry and instrument control. * Understanding of sample preparation, dilutions, and basic calculations. Education and Experience Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related life science. * 0–2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or analytical laboratory. * Familiarity with GMP documentation and Good Laboratory Practices.
