Job DescriptionJob Title: Production WorkerJob Description The Production Worker produces and modifies a variety of glass tubes used in medical and scientific applications while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. This role involves operating small manual or semi-automated machines, performing precise measurements with specialized tools, and inspecting components to ensure they meet product specifications. The Production Worker also supports final packaging and inventory control to keep production running smoothly and accurately. Responsibilities • Produce and modify glass tubes in various sizes for use in medical and scientific laboratories., • Operate small manual or semi-automated production machines in a safe and efficient manner., • Use micrometers, gauges, calipers, and microscopes to measure and verify glass components against product specifications., • Perform quality inspections throughout the production process to ensure components meet required standards., • Inspect finished glass components and identify any defects or nonconformities before final packaging., • Bag, tag, and pack finalized materials accurately and neatly according to established procedures., • Assist with inventory control activities, including tracking materials and finished goods., • Follow product specification drawings and work instructions to ensure accurate production and inspection., • Handle small and microscopic materials with care and precision during production and inspection., • Support final inspection processes to confirm the quality and completeness of outgoing products., • Maintain a clean and organized work area within a lab-coat cleanroom environment., • Stay focused on production tasks, maintain consistent output, and meet daily production and quality targets., • Collaborate with team members and leadership to resolve issues and improve processes where needed., • Cross-train on different tasks and equipment to provide flexibility and coverage within the team.Essential Skills, • At least 1 year of experience operating a machine in a production or manufacturing environment., • At least 1 year of quality inspection experience., • Ability to read and interpret product specification drawings., • Basic math skills, including counting and measuring in a work setting., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection and production tasks., • Ability to learn new tasks and cross-train quickly on different equipment and processes., • Ability to sit and/or stand for 8–10 hours per day., • Comfort working with small tools and small components., • Capability to follow detailed work instructions and quality procedures., • Reliability in maintaining focus and staying on task in a production-based role.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • 1+ years of experience using micrometers, gauges, calipers, and other precision measuring tools, or the ability to train quickly on these tools., • Experience with cycle counting, inventory control, or working in an ERP system., • Final inspection experience in a manufacturing or production environment., • Experience handling small or microscopic materials., • Experience with wool packing processes., • Experience with screen printing., • Background in quality, QC, inspection, or inventory-related roles., • Familiarity with small manual or semi-automated machine operation, production, assembly, and inspection work., • Interest in growing into technician or lead roles as skills and experience develop.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a clean, air-conditioned production facility operating on a first shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There are two shifts in total at the site, and this position is assigned to the first shift. The workplace is a lab-coat cleanroom environment (lab coat required, not full gown), designed to support precision work with glass components and small materials. Each shift team is small, with around six people, fostering close collaboration and focused communication. The environment emphasizes focus, detail, and production-based performance, where staying on task and maintaining quality is essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PFLUGERVILLE, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
