Job Description About Us: Besos Cocina & Cantina is a well-loved family-style restaurant preparing to reopen with a fresh look and renewed commitment to quality service and hospitality. As part of our relaunch, we’re looking for a professional and experienced Host/Hostess who can provide a warm welcome, coordinate a smooth seating flow, and set the tone for a memorable dining experience. Position Overview: As the Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests. You must bring a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a deep sense of hospitality to every shift. Your role is essential to managing the front of house operations, ensuring guests are greeted promptly and seated efficiently while supporting our team in creating a welcoming and organized dining environment. Key Responsibilities: • Greet guests warmly and promptly as they arrive, • Manage waitlists and reservations using a host stand system or app, • Communicate estimated wait times with professionalism and clarity, • Coordinate seating assignments to balance server sections and maintain smooth flow, • Assist with answering phone calls, taking to-go orders, and providing general information, • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entryway, and restrooms, • Uphold a friendly, composed, and professional demeanor in high-traffic situations, • Communicate effectively with servers, bussers, and management, • Minimum 1 year of experience in a host/hostess or guest-facing role in a restaurant, • Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills, • Professional appearance and demeanor, • Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality, • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Texas Food Handler’s Certificate before start date, • Must meet all state and local regulatory requirements, • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, • Be part of an exciting relaunch of a respected local restaurant, • Supportive team atmosphere where your role is valued, • Opportunities for growth in a professional and family-oriented environment, • A steady and welcoming guest base who values great serviceCompany DescriptionWe are currently Remodeling and upgrading many parts of the restaurant and relaunching to better serve as a family-friendly restaurant catering to families, date nights, business diners and special events (i.e birthdays, aniverseries, company team builders, etc..) . The restaurant features over 4500 sq ft of dining areas and additional 2500 sq ft of patio space. The bar is exceptionally large and seats almost 30 customers. Our upgrades and remodeling includes new granite bar top, new flooring, new table tops, new uniforms new menu, a fully decorated patio and overall better Decor throughout. Our goal is to have an exceptional restaurant with great service great food and relaxing chill vibe. An important part of this is to be very structured with appropriate policies and procedures in all aspects of the restaurant.We are currently Remodeling and upgrading many parts of the restaurant and relaunching to better serve as a family-friendly restaurant catering to families, date nights, business diners and special events (i.e birthdays, aniverseries, company team builders, etc..) .
