Our Senior Estimators lead various estimates for projects in the Renewable Energy Market including Utility Scale Solar, Energy Storage (BESS), and High Voltage. Duties will include, but are not limited to reading and interpreting documents, subcontractor solicitation, leading a team of estimators, analyzing drawing and specifications, reviewing, and assisting with proposals and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for various projects. Lead self-perform mechanical and electrical estimates from RFP inception to operation handover. • Conduct labor, productively, & various pricing analysis specific to each estimate/project., • Manage the entire bid process including subcontractor solicitation and follow through, bid document management, and evaluation of subcontractor proposals/bids., • Manage the post bid process by verifying scope schedule and pricing within established parameters., • Review and assist in preparation and culmination of project estimates and bids., • Present estimate(s) to executive leadership, • Assign work to subordinates, direct and review their assignments and ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates prepared by subordinates., • Assists in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and relative cost estimates as required., • Assist project and construction management team during pre- design and construction planning, project execution and upon completion., • Meet with client management, staff, and supervisory personnel to introduce services, expertise and capabilities of the company., • Accumulate, evaluate, and document historical cost data, current trends and construction procedures and methods in order to keep current with estimating standards and databases., • Build relationships with subcontractors and vendors as a resource and stay informed of upcoming shifts in the market related to pricing., • Notify management group of upcoming projects status and approximate timing for company proposal and bid submittals., • Assist in the development of area marketing plans and goals, and in developing strategy for management client contacts regarding procurement of work, estimating services, contract negotiation, and future work potential., • Participate in responses to RFP’s/ RFQ’s as well as participate in presentations delivered to clients for project pricing., • Assist clients and designers in systems selections, budgeting, cost containment, value engineering, etc., • Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy and client presentations as required., • Manage subordinates assigned to estimating department and provide guidance and training as needed to support team members., • Attend various networking/social events engage as an active member in industry associations / non-profit organizations, representing the company. Review and assist in preparation and culmination of project estimates and bids., • Provides total commitment to continuous process improvement. Exercises good interpersonal skills by gladly assisting others to accomplish work of the organization, even it is outside the scope of regular duties., • Models and reinforces safety as a top priority of the organization., • Meets schedules and deadlines, adheres to policies and procedures and maintains a good attendance/tardiness record. Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience 5-7 years’ experience in construction. Experience in estimating, cost control and/or estimating experience related to Utility-Scale Solar, electrical, or other related construction experience. While performing the duties of this position in the fabrication shop, warehouse, maintenance shop or at a project site, the employee could be regularly exposed to any number of the following, including, but not limited to: moving mechanical parts; moving machinery; high, precarious places (including, but not limited to, being raised several hundred feet in a bucket); close tight quarters; rough and sloped terrain; fumes or airborne particles; drilling and blasting activities; welding activities; toxic or caustic chemicals; the potential of falling rock; and outside weather conditions. The employee may be occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is generally loud. • NOTE – Where allowed, employees who work in positions classified as “safety-sensitive” can be disciplined if they test positive for marijuana or its metabolites, even if they have a valid state medical marijuana license. In addition, Flintco may also refuse to hire applicants for safety-sensitive jobs who test positive for marijuana as part of a pre-employment drug test, even if those applicants can produce a valid medical marijuana patient license. Flintco offers base compensation for the Denver area of $125,000-$150,000. (Actual compensation may be affected by factors such as education, experience, skillset and/or location.)
