Job Summary The Patient Benefits Coordinator will be primarily responsible for checking insurance eligibility and benefits for surgical procedures and appointments, including in house, outpatient surgical centers and hospital based. This individual will also be responsible for obtaining benefits for DME that is ordered by a physician. (Daybreak) Direct insurance company and patient communication is vital to the success of this role. This position will also be a support team member to our billing department and will be responsible to collect on any patient balances that come forth due to benefits investigations. Patient Benefits Coordinator will be responsible to set up payment plans with patients accordingly. Primary Responsibilities • Monitors surgery schedulers and physician orders to obtain benefits, copays, deductibles, etc., • Communicates with patients in regards to their out of pocket responsibilities to include: Deductibles, Copays, Co-Insurances and Outstanding Balances.
