POSITION OVERVIEW: Moss New York is seeking skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Furniture Mover to support the setup, breakdown, and reconfiguration of spaces within our private members' club on a per-diem on-call basis. This role is essential to maintaining the flexibility, presentation, and operational excellence of our venue, ensuring all furnishings are handled with care and spaces are arranged to Moss New York's elevated standards. The Furniture Mover role plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in transforming rooms for daily service, private events, and special programming. The ideal candidate is physically capable, safety-minded, and takes pride in precision, teamwork, and respect for high-end furnishings and finishes. This position reports directly to the Facilities Supervisor or Facilities Manager. COMPENSATION: The hourly wage for this position is $23.00 – $25.00 per hour, depending on experience. CLASSIFICATION: This is a non-exempt, hourly position. In accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), you are eligible for overtime pay at one and a half times your regular rate for all hours worked over 40 in a single workweek. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Furniture Handling & Space Setup • Move, lift, carry, and position furniture including tables, chairs, sofas, banquettes, and event furnishings with precision and care., • Set up and break down spaces for daily operations, private events, meetings, and special programming., • Handle all furniture, fixtures, and finishes carefully to prevent damage to high-end materials and surfaces., • Use proper lifting techniques and team-based movement to ensure safety at all times., • Work closely with facilities, operations, and events teams to execute timely room resets and transitions., • Respond promptly to last-minute setup changes or urgent requests., • Assist with organizing, storing, and maintaining furniture and equipment in designated storage areas., • Report damaged furniture or safety concerns to facilities or management., • Maintain a clean and organized work environment during and after moves. QUALIFICATIONS: • Previous experience in furniture moving, event setup, facilities support, or similar physical roles preferred., • Strong physical capability, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and standing for extended periods., • Attention to detail and respect for high-end furniture and environments., • Ability to follow direction, floor plans, and setup instructions accurately., • Team-oriented, dependable, and punctual., • Commitment to workplace safety and proper equipment use., • Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and short-notice call-ins as needed.
