What is the Role? Coney Island Prep’s Chief Schools Officer (CSO) serves as the primary thought partner to the CEO on all matters related to school management and performance. The CSO has a proven track record of coaching and leading adults to achieve strong outcomes, a deep commitment to building and sustaining effective systems, and a passion for using data to drive academic and cultural improvement. The CSO sets a vision for academics and culture of our campuses from arrival through to after school. This senior instructional leader is responsible for academic performance, student and adult culture of our four campuses, managing the Director of After School, and the direct performance management and leadership coaching of principals. The CSO will serve on the school’s network leadership team and the position is based in our network office in Coney Island, Brooklyn, with the flexibility to work from home two days a week after onboarding is complete. They will be hired by and report directly to the CEO. What You’ll Be Asked To Do Deliver exceptional academic results by setting and driving the school’s vision for school leadership that consistently and reliably delivers a rigorous, highly structured, and supportive academic environment that will lead staff and students to revolutionary outcomes. • Employ a research-based, data-driven approach to decision-making, academic goal-setting, and leadership coaching, • Marshalls all resources, especially leaders and staff, to eliminate racial disparities and racist outcomes from school performance and academic data, • Support and coach school leaders in implementing the school’s instructional cycle (preparation and internalization; observation and feedback; data review) to drive instruction and decision making, • Develop and implement a vision for school culture that strengthens learning environments, fosters a sense of belonging, and drives improved student outcomes Collaborate and co-lead by working in tandem with the Chief Operating Officer to collectively lead all aspects of the day-to-day management and operations of our schools, including ensuring that the operational performance of our campuses is responsive to the academic and cultural needs of the school. • Partners in lockstep with the Chief Academic Officer to collectively lead the academic performance of our schools, and to support the fidelity and implementation of academic systems and curriculum, • Meet regularly with the Chief Talent & Equity Officer to support staff development, feedback processes, and teacher evaluation systems, • Work closely with other members of the organization’s senior leadership team, including the Chief External Officer and Chief Financial Officer to support all compliance, financial, academic data, and teacher evaluation systems, • Build trust-based relationships and navigate across organizational layers to achieve challenging goals through the management of both school-based leaders and other network level team members Develop talent by directly managing and coaching the director of after school, a team of four principals, and leading critical organizational talent development structures to support leadership and coaching. • Design and deliver ongoing professional development for all school leaders, especially principals, and including vice-principals and school culture teams (Deans & Social Workers), • Regularly participate in academic walkthroughs, joint check-ins, and other meeting observations to develop and improve school leader performance, • Foster a collaborative approach between principals and across campuses to ensure K-12 network alignment as one school, • Lead a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team by both modeling organizational values and modeling strengths-based coaching that catalyzes leader performance, • Partner with CTEO to improve and continue to refine instructional evaluation systems, • Partner with the People Team to refine and improve People systems, and recruit and retain diverse academic staff Operate with Effectiveness by leading with a systems orientation to drive long term sustainable results. • Codify systems to ensure best practices are implemented across campuses, with a particular emphasis on school culture systems, restorative practices, SEL learning, and our Advisory curriculum, • Actively monitor the implementation of significant behavioral consequences by principals to ensure alignment with the School’s mission and vision, and compliance with policies and relevant laws, • Liaise with principals, families, and CEO to actively manage risk and crises related to student safety, • Ensure compliance as it relates to supporting students with special needs; The Role Vision for the History Teacher role: Our History Teacher will ensure our students develop a complex understanding of American History and its continued relevance to the world we live in today. Students will not just learn how to develop historically defensible claims but also articulate complex arguments with an awareness of who will and will not agree with them. In the short run, this will allow students to achieve excellent exam results on the Regents US History exam and, if applicable, the AP US History exam in tenth grade--not just passing but a score that demonstrates a deep understanding and true mastery of the subject matter. Job Description: Our History Teacher needs to be an excellent classroom teacher and have a passion for curriculum design. Job Description We are seeking a part-time Opportunity Coach for Passaic County Community College's Passaic-Ramapo Onramp to Student Persistence & Employment Readiness (PROSPER) program. Job DescriptionSalary: Coach Across America Coach at Beat the Streets NY About Coach Across America Founded in 2010, Coach Across America is a national service organization dedicated to inspiring youth to achieve their potential by connecting them with coaches trained in positive youth development. We do this by identifying, training, and supporting coaches who bring sports-based youth development to partner organizations in the most underserved communities. What Youll Do This Coach Across America member will serve with Beat the Streets New York, supporting youth wrestling programs for students in grades K12. Job Description Full-Time Social Worker (Afterschool Program - Bronx Locations) About New York Junior Tennis & Learning For over fifty years, New York Junior Tennis & Learning (NYJTL) has honored its founder Arthur Ashe’s legacy by celebrating the diversity of children, encouraging them to reach their highest potential through free tennis and academic programs. NYJTL is the largest provider of youth tennis and education programs in the nation, providing services in 100 unique sites across all five boroughs while reaching nearly 90,000 kids. In addition, NYJTL designed, funded (with NYC), built and operates the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning in the South Bronx. All NYJTL community tennis and after school programs are offered at no cost to its participants. The mission of NYJTL is to develop the character of young people through tennis and education for a lifetime of success on and off the court. We believe life skills gained through tennis, academics, healthy living, and character development are a catalyst for long-term achievement. Position Summary: NYJTL is seeking a full-time, in-person Social Worker to support afterschool programs at identified Bronx sites through a combination of direct student services, staff training, and intern supervision. This role includes providing emotional and behavioral support to students, facilitating SEL groups, coaching staff, and leading trauma-informed and restorative practices. The Social Worker will supervise Bronx-based social work interns and split their time between assigned school sites and NYJTL’s Cary Leeds Center. Key Responsibilities: • Provide short-term emotional and behavioral counseling to students during afterschool hours, • Coach afterschool staff and Site Directors on trauma-informed practices, restorative approaches, and SEL strategies, • Supervise Bronx-based social work interns, including observations, feedback, and weekly reflective supervision, • Support family engagement efforts and help develop culturally responsive tools and resources for sites, • Coordinate with school-day staff and caregivers to ensure continuity of student support, • Analyze SEL survey data and contribute to ongoing program evaluation, • Lead and participate in cross-site trainings, group supervision, and learning communities, • A Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution, • 2–4 years of experience working with children and youth, • 1–2 years of experience supervising interns or coaching staff, • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, social-emotional learning (SEL), and restorative practices, • Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills, • New York State LMSW (or a willingness to receive within the first 6 months of employment), • Bilingual (Spanish preferred), • Experience working in school-based or afterschool settings, • PS 075 X — School of Research and Discovery — 984 Faile Street, Bronx, NY, • PS 345 X — LION Elementary — 730 Bryant Avenue, Bronx, NY Salary: $55k - 65k Schedule: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday-Friday Work Location: In-Person (reporting to Bronx afterschool sites and Cary Leeds Center) Benefits: • Medical, • Dental, • Vision, • Life Insurance, • Long-Term Disability, • Flexible Spending Accounts NYJTL values the diversity of the people we hire and inspire.
