Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts at Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a non-tenure-track academic faculty member to serve as Assistant Dean for Student Success and Leadership, reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the Faculty Director of the Leaders in Progress and Service Quality Enhancement Plan. The anticipated start date is no later than August 1, 2026. The Assistant Dean for Student Success and Leadership will serve as the college's lead champion and Progress and Service Fellow for the Leaders in Progress and Service Quality Enhancement Plan in partnership with the Office of Undergraduate Education and Student Success. This initiative is available to undergraduate students and intentionally designed for transformative impact: to prepare our students to exemplify the leaders envisioned in Georgia Tech's mission and motto. Addressing the complex problems of tomorrow requires the ability to define issues from multiple perspectives while also developing a sense of one's own professional identity to effect change. The Assistant Dean for Student Success and Leadership will provide strategic leadership for student achievement, retention, and engagement. This role will advance the success of students pursuing humanities and social science disciplines in a technological, STEM-intensive environment, ensuring they are prepared academically, personally, and professionally. The role will support a diverse undergraduate and graduate student population, including students navigating interdisciplinary pathways at the intersection of technical and humanistic study. The role will support experiential learning opportunities, including internships, research, and co-curricular programs that highlight the value of liberal arts. The Assistant Dean for Student Success and Leadership will serve as a key resource for students, faculty, and staff to address complex academic concerns, support policy implementation, and foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The Assistant Dean for Student Success will: Contribute to development and teach multiple sections of Leaders in Progress and Service foundational courses, IAC 2030 and/or GT 2030 Progress and Service Forum. Mentor Leaders in Progress and Service students as an immersive learning and summit mentor each semester. Support the work of the Leaders in Progress and Service initiative to engage students from all Georgia Tech colleges in emphasizing interdisciplinary problem definition. Serve as a juror for the Leaders in Progress and Service juried assessment process, an ex officio member of the Leaders in Progress and Service Advisory Board, and on other related work groups or task forces. Supervise student success staff and manage student success functions to ensure alignment with College and Institute priorities and goals including but not limited to prospective student recruitment, undergraduate and graduate student engagement, career education, and mental health and well-being counseling. Manage budgets for the College's student success initiatives. Support the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in overseeing matters related to student affairs. Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Dean, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and/or Leaders in Progress and Service Faculty Director. An earned doctoral degree in a liberal arts discipline, higher education administration, or a related field by the start of the appointment. Please review Georgia Tech's hiring and promotion career paths for non-tenure-track academic faculty here:___ Demonstrate an exceptional commitment to teaching and mentoring, with particular experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching large sections of undergraduate courses Strong teaching interest around complex or wicked problems Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in higher education, with a focus on student success, academic advising, retention, or student support services Proven experience or ability to design, implement, and assess student success initiatives using data-informed approaches Experience collaborating with faculty and academic leadership Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across students, faculty, and staff Budget management experience and ability to allocate limited resources effectively and strategically Experience supervising professional staff Evidence of scholarly work and professional development in the field of concentration The anticipated salary range is $100,000-$125,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
