Job Description Connect Staffing is hiring a Distribution Lead for a furniture distributor in Puyallup, WA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $28/hr with a Monday–Friday 6:00am–2:30pm schedule. In this role, you will provide first-line leadership for a distribution team, assigning work across unloading, picking, put-away, loading, and storage operations. Some overtime is available. Pay:$28.00/hr Schedule:Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm Location:Puyallup, WA Job Type:Temp-to-Hire Workplace Language:English Work Environment:Distribution Center Overtime:Some overtime available Responsibilities • You will lead and assign work to distribution associates across unloading, picking, put-away, loading, and storage operations. You'll also:, • Monitor and adjust trailer and product flow continuously to identify bottlenecks and maintain operational efficiency, • Train distribution associates on proper procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards, • Conduct daily safety huddles and pre-shift briefings with distribution team members, • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipment schedules with carriers and transportation teams, • Support the Distribution Operations Manager in executing SQDC targets and facility goals, • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through implementation of Lean principles and ownership of facility 5S programs, • Define priorities and develop alternative solutions when operational challenges arise Minimum Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent, • 3+ years of warehouse distribution experience, • 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience Preferred Qualifications • Experience executing SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) targets in a distribution environment, • Knowledge of Lean principles and 5S methodology for continuous improvement, • Familiarity with trailer and product flow management in high-volume operations, • Experience maintaining facility leadership boards and operational metrics, • Strong training and development skills with ability to coach team members, • Preferred prior job titles: Distribution Lead, Warehouse Lead, Distribution Supervisor, Dock Supervisor, Warehouse Team Lead, Shipping Lead, Receiving Lead, Logistics Lead, Operations Lead, Warehouse Coordinator Pre-Employment Requirements • Drug screen required, • Background check required, • E-Verify / work authorization required, • Ability to communicate effectively in English, • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs frequently throughout shift, occasionally up to 100 lbs, • Ability to work at a fast pace in a distribution center environment, • Steel toe boots required (employee-provided) Benefits • Weekly pay, • Direct deposit / Paycard, • Health and dental benefits available, • Earn referral bonuses, • WA Cares Fund long-term care coverage (state-mandated) After you apply, please check your email for a short screening questionnaire from us.
