The company is seeking an experienced Buyer to lead sourcing and procurement activities, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely, cost-effective acquisition of products and equipment. Responsibilities: • Conduct product research, prepare purchasing documents, issue orders, and identify suitable suppliers., • Monitor industry trends, speak with suppliers, and suggest potential procurement sources., • Review and evaluate vendor quotations to confirm product availability, adequate supply levels, and delivery timelines., • Assess product usage and financial return to determine whether repairing equipment is cost-effective., • Track the status of open orders to ensure timely delivery and follow up on any items placed on backorder., • Partner with warehouse personnel to ensure accurate inventory records and timely receipt of goods., • Work with suppliers to select equipment that meets required specifications and negotiate pricing, discounts, or extended warranties., • Establish purchasing terms, research prospective suppliers, and set up new vendor profiles when needed., • Negotiate pricing adjustments to meet departmental cost objectives., • Maintain and oversee purchase order workflows and systems., • Update pricing information annually and keep procurement records organized and current., • Evaluate supplier proposals, comparing cost, specifications, and delivery commitments, and award orders accordingly., • Collaborate with the Sales team on pre-sale product information and assist with equipment lookups., • Ensure all open purchase orders are accurate and confirm that physically received goods are properly recorded each month. Verify vendor invoices that do not reference purchase orders., • Initiate and manage Return-to-Vendor (RTV) transactions for calibration, repairs, or product returns., • Validate vendor data and maintain the approved vendor list., • Process approved requisitions and issue purchase orders., • Prepare weekly and monthly procurement reports, including open order summaries., • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, • 1+ years of buying experience, • Effective negotiation abilities, • Strong attention to detail, • Collaborative and team-oriented approachCompany DescriptionTransition Staffing Group is an award winning San Diego based staffing agency providing solutions on a Temporary, Temporary-to-Hire and Direct Hire basis.
