Job Description Job Title: Private Aviation- Avionics Technician If qualified and interested: Text Duke at 631/513/1840 Job Description The Avionics Technician performs maintenance, repair, and installation on a variety of corporate business jets, ensuring all work complies with aircraft manufacturers’ specifications, FAA guidelines and regulations, and established company policies and procedures. This role focuses on troubleshooting electrical malfunctions in aircraft avionics systems and executing high-quality installations and repairs of modern connectivity and communication equipment. Responsibilities • Perform maintenance and repair on a variety of corporate business jets in strict compliance with manufacturers’ specifications, FAA guidelines and regulations, and internal policies and procedures., • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions on aircraft avionics systems to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions., • Install, configure, and support avionics systems including Starlink and Gogo equipment to ensure reliable in-flight connectivity and communications., • Carry out avionics installations, including routing, securing, and terminating wiring harnesses and electrical components according to engineering drawings and standards., • Perform electrical repairs on aircraft systems, ensuring proper functionality, safety, and adherence to regulatory requirements., • Work with Gulfstream and other corporate aircraft platforms, applying type-specific maintenance and avionics knowledge where applicable., • Use appropriate test equipment and diagnostic tools to verify system performance and confirm successful repairs and installations., • Document all work performed in accordance with FAA and company standards, including maintenance logs, repair records, and installation reports., • Collaborate with other technicians and departments in a hangar environment to coordinate aircraft downtime, prioritize tasks, and meet project schedules., • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in and around aircraft, tools, and equipment., • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance maintenance practices, installation methods, and troubleshooting processes. Essential Skills • Hands-on experience working on corporate business jets, with experience level aligned to technician level (Tech Level I: 1–1.5 years; Tech Level II: 2–4 years; Tech Level III: 7+ years)., • Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in aircraft avionics systems., • Experience with avionics installation, including wiring harness fabrication and routing., • Strong electrical repair skills related to aircraft systems and avionics components., • Experience with Starlink installation on aircraft., • Experience with Gogo installation on aircraft., • Gulfstream aircraft experience for higher technician levels or specialized roles., • Understanding of FAA guidelines and regulations related to aircraft maintenance and avionics work., • Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation., • Attention to detail and accuracy in following procedures, documenting work, and meeting regulatory standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications • A&P license is highly beneficial and may be preferred for advanced technician levels., • FCC license or certification is advantageous for working on certain communication and avionics systems., • Experience working in contract roles on corporate jets, particularly for Tech Level III candidates who are ready to transition into a stable position., • Capability to work across different technician levels, with openings for Tech Level I, Tech Level II, and Tech Level III., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex avionics issues., • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide clear updates on maintenance and repair status., • Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality workmanship. The work involves hands-on tasks around aircraft structures, avionics bays, and electrical systems, using specialized tools, test equipment, and installation materials. Technicians operate within a structured maintenance setting that emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and collaborative teamwork, with clear procedures and documentation practices guiding daily activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
