Job DescriptionPurpose: To ensure that the residential operations department stays in line with the Company's goals and objectives. This position establishes productivity standards by department position and department managers and ensures accountability for performance as well as to develop and implement processes that continuously measures and improves efficiencies in both whole-sale and retail mortgage loan operations. These include the underwriting, processing, appraisal review, closing, post-closing and compliance areas. Job Functions: • To manage and oversee the loan operations area, provide mentorship and training, • Review, modify processes and workflows to maximize efficiencies and system accuracy., • Oversee loan documentation preparation, quality control and due diligence to ensure that all loan operation functions are in compliance with bank policies, procedures and meet federal and state regulatory standards, • Effectively manages loan pipeline and workflow to ensure home loan applications are processed, underwritten and closed in an efficient and compliant manner, • Manage the complete execution of sales to the investor from, pricing, committing, packaging, clearing stipulations, and shipping to collateral delivery., • Work directly and alongside department heads on all aspects of the loan process. Including loan application review, second review of underwriting conditions, preclosing and quality control findings., • Administer and manage closing requirements, funding, documentation and loan operations pipelines., • Monitor and manage workflow with management and maintain proficient turnaround and response times., • Assist with the underwriting process, by thoroughly reviewing the loan packages for approval purposes, proactively identifying solutions for potential underwriting issues, and working in conjunction with the underwriter to monitor findings and a resolution process., • Conducts meetings with employees to review production and changes to policies and procedures, • Manages all pre- and post-document file review to ensure accuracy, compliance with policies and procedures and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, • Recruits, interviews and recommends qualified personnel, • Ensures that all employee performance appraisals are completed and administered in a timely manner, including goal setting, providing constructive feedback in a professional manner and developing a career path for each individual, • Verify conditions of approval which may include customer income/assets documentation, credit and property review., • Maintain product knowledge and stay up-to-date on changes to market conditions, • Other projects and duties as assigned by department managers. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university, • 5+ years of leadership experience in mortgage industry with strong knowledge of mortgage operations from origination to compliance, funding, post-closing and capital markets., • Has a high technical proficiency and speed in learning new production platforms with working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Encompass, • Is a Self-motivated, flexible and entrepreneurial individual that is accustomed to a fast-paced, hands-on work environment with ability to meet deadlines., • Possesses a track record of success developing, building and leading strong results-oriented mortgage operations teams., • Is a role model for behaviors that support the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and ethics. Has the ability to recruit, lead and mentor others., • Strong commitment to internal and external customer service and satisfaction., • Work involves extensive communication with management on their assigned tasks, must be able to troubleshoot and resolve assignments in a timely, accurate, and effective manner., • The position requires advanced mortgage regulation knowledge, quality control experience, and proven problem solving and decision-making skills., • Strong understanding of mortgage lending, including underwriting, operations, and lending compliance., • Demonstrate the ability to perform a detailed analysis of mortgage loan documents, their compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, their adherence to applicable guidelines and to Bank policy and procedures., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Able to work independently and proactively, prioritizing workload and handling multiple tasks., • Must be flexible, able to work overtime hours, as required, in a fast paced, potentially stressful environment., • Ability to consistently deliver accurate and organized work., • Strong partnership and relationship building skills to work effectively with internal teams (Processors, Underwriters, closers, etc.) and external vendors as needed for each transaction.
