We are seeking a Linux-focused Systems Administrator who can develop enterprise solutions to address technical and operational challenges. Come join the team that is creating cutting edge signal processing and geolocation systems for the future! What are the primary responsibilities in the Sr. Linux Systems Administrator position? As a Sr. Linux Systems Administrator at Rincon, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and creating solutions that support the modernization and improvement of services and infrastructure. As a member of a team, you will work to develop techniques, create solutions, and build services that directly support company-wide efforts and continuity. Responsibilities to include, but not limited to: • Design, build, and manage enterprise-scale Linux systems and services across multiple sites, using automation, IaC, and modern configuration management tooling to support critical infrastructure at scale., • Lead or support infrastructure projects and migrations—including upgrades, capacity improvements, and technology refreshes with minimal disruption., • Execute and manage operational cycles, including patching, monitoring, maintenance, and performance optimization, ensuring required metrics for availability, security, and compliance are consistently met., • Create and maintain documentation, such as user guides, knowledge bases, change requests, and system maintenance records., • Establish and maintain standards of system administration and development practices, such as technical design, solution development, systems configuration, and operations procedures., • Monitor, manage, and report on system performance, security, availability, and recoverability, including oversight of backup and disaster recovery operations., • Develop and maintain scripts, automation, and IaC frameworks to standardize operations and reduce manual effort across multiple sites and environments., • Implement and maintain system-level security controls, including identity and access management services such as IdM, FreeIPA, while performing day-to-day security operations to ensure continuous compliance and secure access across environments., • Provide technical leadership and technical solutions, architecture designs, and ensure operational best practices are both being executed and performed as the standard., • Review and approve technical proposals, change requests, and implementation guides to ensure alignment with team and company standards., • Support and lead enterprise-wide vertical and horizontal integration, planning, and coordination efforts across teams and sites. What required background will make you successful? • Active TS/SCI security clearance, • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED Certification, • Requires security certification in compliance with DOD 8570 within 90 days of hire, • Requires professional certification in one or more areas within 6 months of hire, • Examples include RHCSA, RHCE, CKA, CCNA, AWS AssociateEducation, Experience, • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline. May be substituted for 5+ years of experience Preferred skills: • Advanced knowledge of Linux systems and service administration., • Preferred, not required: demonstrate ability to integrate Windows services into Linux-based infrastructure., • Advanced knowledge of configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform, with experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and using Git-based version control and CI/CD practices to ensure repeatable standardized configurations and deployments across multiple environments., • Proven experience with enterprise storage platforms and supporting technologies such as SAN, NFS, iSCSI, block, and object storage., • Proven experience managing virtualization platforms such as KVM, OpenStack, OpenShift, and container platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes to deliver scalable, reliable, and production-grade environments., • Strong understanding of security compliance frameworks (STIGs, DISA Benchmarks, CMMC, CUI), with hands-on experience in remediation, patching, logging, and maintaining compliance baselines through version-controlled code practices., • Experience with scripting or programming skills in a language such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Go, all to support system tooling, operational workflows, and troubleshooting.
