Internship Summary: As an Process Technician Intern at Kuraray, you will gain hands-on experience supporting plant operations and process safety in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in chemical engineering, industrial technology, or safety management who are eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world operations. You will assist with routine inspections, equipment monitoring, and process adjustments while learning to interpret analytical results and system trends. The internship also includes exposure to safety protocols, environmental compliance, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). You'll participate in training exercises and contribute to maintaining high standards of housekeeping and operational excellence. The paid internship will be approximately 13 weeks in duration for the summer of 2026 with flexible start and end dates. Student interns must be able to work full-time Monday through Friday. This is internship is 100% onsite and will work shift work (DuPont schedule) as well during the internship. The internship will be split between a major project and daily tasks Housing will not be provided for the internship Responsibilities: • Conduct routine visual inspection of plant process areas and process equipment for proper operating status, • Tour the assigned plant area to review equipment operation and record equipment process readings, • Adjust equipment as instructed, • Maintain acceptable housekeeping in assigned areas, • Review final product and process analytical results, DCS conditions/trends, and LIMS trends, • Utilize SPC for correction of problem areas affecting product consistency, • Record performance of job tasks and status of process area, • Understand and comply with regulatory, company, and departmental Safety and Environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures, • Attend scheduled safety training, emergency response training, and employee meetings, • Participate in training exercises, • Know and utilize proper PPE for performing required jobs, • Understand and utilize SOPs when performing routine job tasks, • Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: • Associate's degree or currently enrolled in the Certificate in Process Technology program., • High school diploma or equivalent, • Ability to troubleshoot process problems (on-the-job training or college education), • Equipment troubleshooting experience preferred, • Above average mechanical and mathematical skills, • Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions in process operations, • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team, • Ability to work a rotating shift (including overtime) and the ability to physically perform the required operations, • Ability to routinely push, pull or lift at least 50 pounds while performing normal unit operations, • Ability to climb stairs and work at heights in excess of 100 feet, • Ability to climb vertical ladders, • Must successfully pass the pre-employment screening process., • Must have a valid drivers license to drive in the US, • Must be at least 18 years of age.
