Job Description We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in leading the daily operations of a high-volume, upscale seafood and oyster house. This hands-on culinary leader will oversee food preparation, maintain exceptional quality standards, mentor kitchen staff, and ensure smooth execution during service. The ideal candidate has a passion for fresh seafood, scratch cooking, and delivering outstanding guest experiences in a fast-paced, chef-driven environment. Key Responsibilities • Assist the Executive Chef in managing all daily Back-of-House operations., • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and adherence to recipes., • Supervise, train, and develop line cooks and kitchen staff., • Support menu execution, seasonal specials, and recipe consistency., • Manage food cost, inventory, purchasing, and waste control., • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health department standards., • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and kitchen organization., • Collaborate with Front-of-House leadership to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction., • Maintain high culinary standards during busy lunch and dinner service. Qualifications • Minimum 3–5 years of Sous Chef or kitchen leadership experience in a high-volume seafood, oyster house, fine dining, or upscale casual restaurant., • Strong knowledge of seafood preparation, scratch cooking, and kitchen operations., • Proven leadership experience in developing and motivating culinary teams., • Experience managing food cost, inventory, labor, and kitchen efficiency., • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills., • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
