HBH has also acquired Way to Grow, a Colorado-based retailer of aeroponic, hydroponic, and greenhouse products, New England Hydroponics, a hydroponics retailer with locations in Massachusetts and Maine, as well as Home Grown Ventures (HGV) Nutrients, a manufacturer and distributor of a proprietary blend of water-soluble nutrients used for commercial agriculture. Together, the six businesses create a leading omnichannel retailer of specialty agriculture and hydroponics equipment and supplies. OVERVIEW OF POSITION The Elevated Systems Technician is a field-based execution specialist responsible for structured facility data collection, system documentation, AgTech monitoring support, and sampling integrity within licensed commercial cultivation facilities. This role serves as the execution backbone of Elevated's AgTech Field Service Program — collecting defensible, repeatable data that enables Cultivation Advisors to deliver strategic recommendations. The Systems Technician operates with precision and discipline, adhering to a clear mandate: execute consistently, document precisely, and escalate responsibly. All advisory decisions are escalated to the assigned Cultivation Advisor or Cultivation Strategist. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Facility Assessment & Structured Data Collection • Execute standardized facility assessments using approved workflows, • Collect and document environmental metrics including temperature, humidity, VPD-related readings, airflow indicators, and PAR/PPFD measurements, • Document objective room-level variability with strict observational neutrality (no interpretation), • Upload complete field data to support Advisor reportingEquipment Mapping & Infrastructure Documentation, • Document and maintain accurate records of lighting systems, HVAC and dehumidification capacity, RO and filtration systems, fertigation and irrigation infrastructure, and environmental monitoring and sensor placement, • Technicians document what exists — Advisors determine optimization strategyAgTech Monitoring & System Support, • Verify proper operation of sensor systems and confirm data connectivity and integrity, • Identify, flag, and log anomalies, service notes, and system observations, • Perform basic functionality checks (system strategy decisions escalated to Advisors)Sampling & Chain of Custody Execution, • Collect tissue, water, substrate, runoff, and pathogen samples following strict chain-of-custody procedures, • Ensure consistent sampling location, timing, labeling, and sanitation practices, • Maintain biosecurity compliance and submit samples per approved cadence, • Technicians do not interpret lab results or communicate conclusions independentlyRecurring Program Execution, • Execute assigned sampling tracks at weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly cadence as required, • Support baseline data collection during client onboarding, • Ensure continuity of historical data to maintain service repeatability across core package tiersProduct Trial, Implementation & Preferred Solutions Integration, • Design and manage structured product and technology trials aligned with the AgTech Program, • Execute trial milestones, capture validation data, and support cross-functional implementation, • Manage platform integration (Elevated One) and support conversion from trial to standardized solutionProcedural Compliance Verification, • Verify adherence to documented mixing and irrigation procedures, • Document observed deviations and escalate inconsistencies or system irregularities, • Support mechanical troubleshooting when directed (strategic nutrients, irrigation, and environmental decisions are escalated)Escalation & Risk Identification, • Immediately escalate suspected pathogen pressure, severe crop stress or pest pressure indicators, biosecurity risk, abnormal data readings, system failures, and safety risks, • When uncertain — pause and escalateCross-Functional Coordination, • Update CRM and internal systems to ensure continuity across all touchpoints KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS) • On-time field report submission ≥ 95%, • Sampling accuracy & chain-of-custody compliance: 100%, • Escalation within SLA ≥ 95%, • Data completeness rate ≥ 98%, • Package cadence adherence ≥ 98%, • Safety incident rate: 0 preventable incidents, • Advisor data turnaround support: ≤ 48 hours from facility visitKEY CHALLENGES, • Maintaining strict observational neutrality while working in complex, high-pressure cultivation environments that may prompt on-the-spot interpretation, • Managing a geographically distributed service territory with consistent cadence, biosecurity compliance, and data quality across diverse client facilities, • Navigating ambiguous or escalation-worthy situations with sound judgment while staying within defined role scope, • Executing structured product trials with rigor and documentation standards sufficient for data-driven advisory conclusionsJOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE, • 2+ years in technical field service, cultivation support, or AgTech operations preferred, • Strong mechanical aptitude; familiarity with environmental controls and irrigation systems preferred, • Experience with digital reporting platforms and CRM systems, • Customer-facing field professionalism and the ability to operate with minimal supervision, • Valid driver's license and flexibility for regular travel, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; comfortable standing, climbing, and working in humid, high-light, active production environments, • Flexible schedule aligned with assigned service routes and client cadenceCOMPENSATION, • Base Salary: Starting at $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience, • Performance-based incentives, • Company vehicle provided, • Gas reimbursement, • Cell phone stipendBENEFITS, • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, • 401(k) plan with company match, • Paid time off and holidays, • Professional development and training opportunities, • Flexible work schedule and remote work options In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the employee may be asked to perform other duties as assigned by management.
